The Most BANG FOR YOUR BUCK?

what item(s), purchase, product have you bought that has long surpassed your expectation for longevity regarding production?

mine starts with: DENON'S A/V high-end 5ch. receiver, the mighty AVR5600.

bought the week princess di died (9-'97), it has worked everyday as the heart of my home theater system which is in heavy use (i've retired since then, too, and been a dreaded couch 'tater...sigh...) AND, i even manually switch OFF/ON...

very good investment...

Nearly everything I buy at Harbor Freight. Because I don't expect it to last more than one use if it doesn't break first :icon17:

Not everything breaks though. The jack stands have done pretty well

WOW! I built my house 10 years ago and the ac has been repaired 3 times already!

sorry 'bout that jay...sadly, my alternative was to switch to a swamp cooler in the dining room window and due to circumstances, the house got to sweltering last july and my beautiful big boy irish setter overheated all in one day and died...so, so sad, to this day...

Damn that sucks! That Vegas heat can be brutal. My brother used to live there. We're actually coming up in May I think to lose some money. We had a dog get hit by a car a couple years ago. I know how ya feel. I had a little girl I had to explain that to. Needless to say we got another one right away!

MW

I have a Panasonic microwave oven that my parents bought me for Christmas back in 1986. It's still going strong.
OTOH, I had a Panasonic Range Hood microwave oven in a rental property I own. Had to repair it once inside of 2 years and it died for a 2nd time inside another year so I replaced it. I seem to recall I bought another Panasonic because the deal was so decent, and I half believed the troubles with the previous one were due to idiot renters.

I also have a Denon AVR-3802 HT receiver that is operating flawlessly after about 14 years. It's on virtually the entire time I am at home.
When I go read the reviews online, it looks to be one of the best Denon has ever made.

in july '14, after my beautiful big irish setter died kinda suddenly i went a week later to the pound and rescued a german short-haired pointer ( a pure-breed, as is my wont-{usually setters/springers}) and this 2 yr. old w/yellow, look-into-soul-eyes, is a delight, thou a troubled/problematic previous 2 owners---$60!!!
