I looked out the window of my building and the rain running off my Z looks pretty cool. I would take pics but no phones allowed.:shakes head:

But it is less than one day away from HUMP DAY!

HR uses it here. It's rather simple to work with when you're coming from an I.T. field. Getting old people to use it though is like teaching grandpa to stop double clutching his brand new automatic Porsche.

I've dabbled with it on my side of the I.T. dept. for lifecycle goals on equipment. But out main focus or ERP is that our company uses SAP for EVERYTHING. BOL's, SQL's, etc. Any shipment, procedure, anything basically is utilized through SAP.

Don't let Ken read that. He might have a coronary if a Z is seen anywhere even close to non ionized UV scanned water straight from that giant underwater lake in Antarctica.

excel can do a lot of fun and tricky stuff if you know how to write all the formulas needed. i'll be taking a course soon for excel to learn it more. i think it's way easier to find a job if you can put you have advanced excel skills.

Without a doubt! Excel and Access knowledge will get you way farther in life than without. Our company is giving free advanced training classes at a local college in July for Excel. Already signed up.

i have yet to use access but it seems somewhat similar to excel. i'm sure i could get the company to pay for my course, but then i would have to sign a letter saying i'd stay with the company for x amount of year(s)

What the hell? What company does that? Mine pays for any cert I want as long as it's beneficial to them. I could leave tomorrow if needed.

Access does go a long ways though. Not totally like Excel. But makes database management soooo much easier in life.

this one does lol.. if i were to leave earlier then the agreed date i would have to refund them the full amount for the class lol.

i'll have to play around with it. i know i opened it twice just to see what it was and missed the layout of how excel is lol

I think w3schools has a good free program on how to utilize the basics of Access. DBMS really is helpful. I use it to adjust our DC and AC here for the I.T. Dept.

Can you do it with Excel in a fully integrated way in a company that has 10 legal entities and generates $2.4 billion in revenue? You would also need to include the following functions, at a minimum:
  1. GL
  2. AP
  3. AR
  4. SO
  5. PO
  6. Inventory
  7. Costing
  8. Cost simulations
  9. Bills of material
  10. Work centers
  11. Capacity management
  12. Routings
  13. Quality management and control
  14. Certificates of analysis
  15. Manufacturing planning, scheduling and execution
  16. CRM
  17. SRM
  18. Website integrations
  19. MRP
  20. Vendor portals
  21. Customer portals
  22. Business intelligence
  23. SSRS
  24. Chargebacks
  25. Rebates
  26. Commissions
  27. HR
  28. Payroll
  29. Warehouse management
  30. Transportation management
  31. RFID
  32. Barcoding
  33. RMA -- customer and vendor

There are a few more areas, these are the ones that come to mind. Every transaction is live also.
