Last night ended up being a cluster. Went back to a co-workers condo after a company event, DD got stuck in the alley, tow trucks refused to come to alleys because they said they'll get stuck too. That left the two of us digging and rocking the car for an hour, in dress clothes and ruining my favorite pair of wingtips. After that disaster we indulged in some scotch and a cigar.

JARblue 02-28-2015 08:18 AM

lol I hate the dealershit ...

Call to schedule an appointment and I'm told I don't need one and to just 'bring it by'. Arrive this morning and first thing I'm told is they might not be able to help me because they are full this morning and I should have made an appointment :gtfo2:

Lucky for me they are able to help me because lots of people are late for their appointment

Hah! Not even close lol. It's like rainy and 31F. Roads are fine.

Of course, it is Texas. So there are lots of fuckin idiots driving full speed on the highways and rolling their vehicles when they hit ice on the bridges. Unbelievable how ignorant people are :shakes head:

Hope you at least enjoyed the scotch and cigars

Wow Texas people drive like idiots in ice/snow. Some people drive full speed like idiots and then there's the people going 20mph on the passing lane with their blinkers on... Lol

rooftop 02-28-2015 08:37 AM

Made it to the airport alive. Good enough

Nope. They said they won't even come because it was an alley (was trying to park in my co-workers spot). We had to rock the car side to side to get it out of the rut. Just got a look at the damage, driver side lower rocker panel is bent from hitting the ice, also I put a nice sized dent on the front left fender pushing the car to the side. Sucks.

Scotch and cigar was good at least haha

Don't think too hard. Enjoy life. Don't sweat the small stuff. People are crazy. Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, and Steve Buscemi are all awesome. Things of that nature

Lol alive is good enough? I prefer good health with all body parts still attached and undamaged ;)

But glad to hear you are still alive. That is definitely a concern when driving in ice/snow with Texas drivers :eekdance:

1-getting to airport on a normal day is
2-getting to airport on a bad weather day is  x 150.

And...where the heck are you going now?! Jeez.

Fabrication. Lot's of fabrication.

I now have space to work without having to pull a car out.

I'm getting a good idea of how things will work out when I get a 4 post lift so I can stack and park a couple of cars.

I hope all goes well with your trip to the dealership. :ugh2:

You are fabricating a new front bumper that you will take with you on the airplane to CA? ;)

4 post lift :yum:

Well, the car has been on a lift for a good while, so it appears they are actually working on it. Maybe they actually have the parts for the headlight recall - I expected them to have to order them and reschedule the install.

Acura is all done. Glad they had all parts in stock. I don't want to come back again unless it is to give them the car back lol

JARblue 02-28-2015 11:00 AM

Well they told me it was all done. Then when I'm getting in the car, the service advisor tells me they will be contacting me when the new radio comes in. Excuse me? Oh, so you didn't fix everything. I made sure that the radio replacement would include a loaner vehicle to drive. In writing ;)

Drove to Discount Tire to get tires inflated and try to switch to the new lugs. No one helped me for 15 minutes so I left. Drove to the mall to find a necklace for myself, no one had anything.

This has been a day of not getting stuff done.
