Well you said boiling, so that would lead me to believe it was a little more than just shaking around. Mine shakes just enough to make constant ripples in the surface of the reservoir fluid. It looks kinda like the ripples from the water glass on the Jeep dash in Jurassic Park. If I had a GT-R, I would say that it's a sign that Godzilla is in the vicinity :D

I think I found a buyer for the center console that's been taking up space in my garage for the past few months :happydance:

It's for a project, so he doesn't care the the cupholder insert is not included and the console pocket doesn't auto open any more.

kenchan 04-16-2015 02:08 PM

nice, mr.jar. i would've probably put it in the taffyapple recycle bin a long time ago. :icon17: haha

It just looks like you're watching water boil, thats what the fluid looks like from the outside looking in.. Its weird.

Yeah, it was taunting me to post it in the Freebies thread a few weeks ago :icon17:

But I'm glad I didn't now. Looks like I'll get $50 for it, which is about 1/3 what I paid for the thing originally (bought used - it's nearly $500 new). I used the console pocket assembly to replace mine, and I sold the cupholder insert for cheap. Can't wait to get that box out of the garage

Do NOT use the Redline Power Steering fluid.

Typo... Dexron VI is what you want. There's no D3 - only D4 and D6.

I should clarify. Redline only has D4 and D6. But there is Dexron I, II, III, and VI type ATF fluids.

It's about the viscosity of the fluid that the pump was designed for. Nissan's PSF has a different viscosity than Redline's PSF supposedly. Of course, I'm not sure there's any difference between the Nissan PSF for our Z and a Sentra. And the Sentra maintenance says "ONLY Nissan PSF should be used".

The Maintenance section in the 370Z service manual says "Genuine Nissan PSF or equivalent *" and the * says "Dexron VI type ATF may also be used".

Woke up 2 hours early, no UPS packages :(
Oh well, its friday for me so that is

:iagree: Everywhere I read it says for PSF use Nissan OEM.

I actually found that the Sentra alternate is a Dexron III type ATF according to Nissan. The OEM fluid is the same as far as I can tell. The Redline D6 ATF satifies D2, D3, and D6 fluid specifications.
