Jackson Browne actually wrote the song, and gave it to Glenn Frey to finish the lyrics. Now Jackson actually was sitting on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, such a fine sight to see. Glenn finished it off with the rest:)

Do you know that they actually pay a girl to drive around in a ford and take pictures in Winslow, AZ ? Some motorcycle buddies couldn't believe it either, so they fricking drive to AZ on one of their trips.... sonofa, look at that. It's true, or everyone's lying :-)

Yeah! If you like the Eagles at all, try to catch The History of the Eagles if you haven't seen it. IIRC it was on Showtime. It is beyond excellent! It showed how Jackson Brown accidentally kick-started Frey's career, which is why I was a bit embarrassed that I said earlier that Frey/Henley wrote Take It Easy.
