Did we do better on the second?

Followed some advice on the second try, let me know what you think!

Eibach lowering springs, white headlights with landing strip LEDs, interior LEDs, carbon fiber mirror caps with LED turn signals, yellow calipers, and 20" Lexani wheels (10" wide in rear)

shabarivas 01-29-2010 05:20 PM

ehh 2nd try for what? not feeling the wheels or the yellow caliper... but looks nice... i would have done no landing strip w/ a shaved headlight but to each their own...

SigPapa226 01-29-2010 05:35 PM

Yellow calipers are fine, just not lovin the wheels.

m4a1mustang 01-29-2010 05:44 PM

Not big on the wheels. I think you should give us a price range next time and let us show you some options. :)

initialgemini 01-29-2010 05:48 PM

Lol there's nothing wrong with it. To each his own. But the majority of people on this board, are ethusiasts who are big on functionality vs. show.

Now if you're trying to build a car to lure in an ethusiast, then we can probably help out in that department.

koeppelnissan 01-29-2010 06:03 PM

I prefer the performance mods to cosmetics myself, but I'm selling cars in Jackson Heights, Queens NY. It's all about the show here. Most enthusiasts in NYC are working on cars a few years old, not new out of the box!

CBRich 01-29-2010 06:21 PM

For your location I think it is perfect. More people in your area want the chrome and flash. I don't think you'll have it very long.

TipsZ 01-29-2010 06:55 PM

Looks nice. Needs some spacers though. Other than that it should sell soon.

Looks good, but you need me powdercoating your calipers ;)

frost 01-29-2010 08:08 PM

I think it looks good fwiw. I have a white Z, and would probably go with a blue caliper because I feel it would compliment the white better. I actually like the rims, I wouldnt buy them because I would hate having to clean the rivet things, but they look nice

Agreed 100%. The modifications to the car is perfect for the area. Almost all modded cars in the area either has chrome rims or some other stuff to it(at least that's what I saw when I was there). It's an all show area and I think you've done a great job.

Thanks for the compliments! Hopefully it sells quick and then I may let Vinny Ten do a little something for the showroom! That'll be more performance oriented!

What's the drop? I like the mods!

Ah, I see.

So... could we see the next one with custom Adidas paint job, matching track suit, and a year's worth of Jagerbombs? ;)

Here's a pic with the top up. We used an Eibach pro-kit. The car drove really nice, I was kinda surprised!

m4a1mustang 01-30-2010 07:09 PM

Looks good in that shot!

No, Definetly not chrome...
I live 30 minutes from that area and I do not see ugly z/g's like that. :ugh2:

hybridnation 02-03-2010 11:34 AM

Price is a bit extreme!

John Bradley 02-03-2010 02:03 PM

Better than the last one though :)

ChrisSlicks 02-03-2010 02:17 PM

Painting the ugly base calipers is a bit weak IMO. Obviously you are trying to keep the cost down as adding an extra $10K to an already $40K car would be a tough sell, but for base calipers I would only paint them black or silver. You don't really want to highlight the fact that the car has base brakes. Installing a BBK would be very cool but would add too much to the cost.

ZoomtoZ 02-03-2010 06:04 PM

I like it better than previous attempt except for the yellow calipers, i would have stuck with black but thats my opinion and we all don't have the same tests. Wheels are a toss up. However definite props for being a dealer that attempts to add a little something different to draw some attention.

you've got to be kidding

it appeals to a segment of any locale I am sure - I am from their area, I'd never drive a car that looked that way, I have no customers who's cars look that way

people who buy a car like this off my floor won't usually visit a performance shop, you are correct. Not everyone is looking for performance, especially not in a spot where there is a stop light or stop sign on every corner.

PS there's a big difference between st james and jackson heights, I'm sure you realize.

Z1Performance 02-07-2010 11:23 AM

absolutely - you have to cater to your demo

I wouldn't worry about impressing random people on a forum - when a car is modded, it's always subjective. If your customer is giving you a positive reply and the cars are turning over, that is really all that matters

DakillaZ 04-22-2010 11:21 AM

this car was at the NY auto show lol it was for sale

It's for sale on my showroom floor now. I sold the maxima with the "bling" all over it last week!

Jesse_Hunter 05-15-2010 04:31 PM

are those Lexani LX-15? That was my first choice when I started rim searching for my z, although this is the first time I've actually seen a pic of one w/ Lexani rims. I had created some on the lexani website, except the were all black except the lip/bolts/center cap. I also like the way they look, not sure that it will sway me away from Venaci VS124's though.

They are Lexanis- i don't even remember exactly which ones though!
