Entertaining moment at the local jiffy lube

I did an oil change on my car over the weekend but in doing it I noticed how low the rear differential was. I wasn't sure how comfortable I was doing it (I consider myself just an ok mechanic at best). I already have the gear oil (redline) as well as the new gasket, so I just thought I'd call a couple of the local oil change places to see what kind of labor charge only that they'd have. The Jiffy Lube said 30 bucks but they wanted to make sure they could get to it, so I headed over there after work...and this is where the fun starts.

In the month I have the car, I think I've seen two z's...one a roadster and the other a coupe. Also, I've done a fair amount of driving around Indy and I have NEVER seen a Z in the blue color that I have. (Even the nissan dealer where I got the gasket said that he's seen a blue coupe but never a blue roadster come in).

The kid (they're generally all early 20's at this jiffy lube) waving me into the bay had a face that looked like he was waving in a lamborghini. Once I stopped in the bay they politely walked me to the waiting area. I had a LOT of fun watching them walk around the car with their flat expression-less faces. (The youngest kid was kind of coyly peaking into the cabin almost like he was afraid something was in there that would grab him...hilarious to me.)

Needless to say there are LOTS of mustangs and camaros here in the heartland of America. It's very rare to see a Z car. So for this new Z owner, who has previously driven a Civic for the last 13 years, these kinds of experiences are really enjoyable.

Just thought I'd share all the fun respect this Z roadster is getting in Indy.

Not many around so it makes it interesting sometimes.

I was asked if it what kind of car it was. .. I thought the giant hamburgers would of given it away.

Lol, I live in Los Angeles and to me, 99% of supercars aren't that cool. I've seen 10 Bugattis, a million billion Ferraris, and enough Lambos to get sick of them. (That includes seeing F40s/50s/Enzos, and Lambos like the Reventón). So whenever someone trips out about "oh my god, that's a Lexus LFA!!!" I don't even double take, and I'm like wait, what's so cool? Lol

Anyways,

I get alot of the same reaction here in Cincinnati can't stop and put gas in without
Someone asking what kind or saying how much they like it. I eat it up I love it drives my wife
Crazy but what the hell... I like the car more than I like her so I'm guessing there is some jealousy!
Enjoy! Nice looking car!

Around here, there are not a lot of exotics, or even 370Z's for that matter. However, driving around on Saturday, I did see a Porsche Carrera Turbo S3 (?) and an amazing Ferrari California in the most beautiful blue. The Ferrari really made my day. He really got on it going up the freeway ramp. My wife dosen't realize that's what ramps are made for :icon17:
