Welcome Lil man!
Like you my dad had a Datsun 240 and like you
Falling in love with the car for life. Two kids of my own
And some 20years later I finally got my own! Do what I did and wash the paint
Off of it for your pops so he can't say no when you ask for the keys when you turn 16
Enjoy!

My uncle Steve had a red 240Z back when I was growing up - called it his "Z car" and would not let me near the driver's seat. At one point my brother and I were tossing a football around and hit the car and my uncle yelled at me for a good 10 minutes (my Dad eventually came to my defense). I remember thinking what a d*ck he was for freaking out on me. The other day I was leaving my neighborhood and kids playing catch threw a ball over the car as I was driving by. I got out and yelled at them and then immediately had a flashback to being a kid. Funny how that works.

Anyway, ever since seeing that 240, I have wanted to own one. The 350z didn't do much for me but when the 370 dropped I bought one. Now I'm on my 2nd Z in 3 years so yeah, I can relate.

welcome, and congrats,
now just make sure, you wash the Z, clean the interior, and wax it (but ask dad what wax), show him you appreciate what he is driving and then when you are able to drive, ask you dad to take you to an autocross and play with it, better to make a mistake there, then on the street....

I started working cars at the age of 12. I think it's awesome to be able to read and gain knowledge on forums at that age. I only had books and magazines!

Welcome and congrats!

back when I was 13, no one I knew had enough money to buy a "real" sports car. What I knew as sports car back then were Civics and Integras. You're lucky.

Welcome!

As a young boy, you'll always remember the day your dad purchased his Z. And maybe in 4 years, it will be yours to drive. Enjoy the car with your dad. Driving around town with your dad in the Z is time well spent. Enjoy!

The only reason I purchased my Z was because of my two boys (12 & 16). They kept telling me to buy one. I really had no interest, then one day I was driving past a Nissan dealership and saw a couple, test drove and purchased my Z a couple weeks later.

My boys and I have been modding my Z ever since and having a blast together. :happydance:
