Hello from the Bay Area (NorCal)

Hi all,

I've been lurking on this forum for over 2 months now, and I am happy that I finally got approved. I actually joined hoping to get advice on purchasing a Z (or Zed, since I am Canadian ;), but in the end, the choice was made anyway. I am a proud owner of a 2013 Z (Pearl White, 6M).

A little about myself...I am originally from Vancouver, BC (more specifically, Richmond), but I moved to the Bay Area for work about 2 years ago. The weather here is beautiful, and in general, the people here are super nice.

A little about my car....so far I've only added a CBE (Invidia Gemini with resonator delete) and a new shift knob. My god, taking off the OEM shift knob was the worst. Aside from that, my CAI (Stillen G3) and spoiler (Evo-r) are still in production/in transit. I will also need to get new summer tires for autocross, and possibly a new front bumper for aesthetics.

As for enjoying my car, I've taken it on fun scenic drives with my friends, and I've autocrossed her twice. If anyone has recommendations for fun drives to go on in NorCal, please let me know! :)

Also I've noticed that other Z drivers don't wave or make eye contact whereas the Subie people are all about that. I just feel like a weirdo for staring down the few Z drivers I run into.

Thanks!

-Crystal

I don't understand this either. I like to acknowledge other Z's too and am disappointed when the other driver is oblivious to the nod of approval.

Nice ride, welcome. Yes the bay is that way, not sure why. Only say hi to the modded Z's now and even then i get the cold shoulder. Once in a while though you will get a friendly hi/nod.

Where in the Bay Area are you located? I usually commute between SJ, Sunnyvale, and Palo Alto.

WELCOME!:driving:

In my experience, everytime I see a Z - the owner and I make eye contact and wave and even have raced at times! I live in Marin County so idk if its a bit different around where you live in the Bay Area. But if you ever catch the Z-Spec around, make sure you make eye contact and wave or I'll just look awkward being the only one doing it. :rofl2:
