From an 09 to 2016

Howdy guys. Been on this forum since Feb 09 when I got my Z. Got rear ended a few weeks back, and totaled it. Had my brand new 2016 Z for a week now. Kind of disappointed I couldn't get the touring seats in my sport tech pkg. My 09 had it all, and unfortunately, Nissan has made that impossible with their package changes.

Anyway, loved my 09 so much, I couldn't see myself getting anything but another Z.

So far I've replaced the air filters with R2C dry weaves, installed Z1 post MAF tubes and some misc silicone hoses, shaved the badges and replaced with black 'Z' badges, and I'm waiting on my Fast Intentions exhaust to go along with the Berk HFC's sitting in my garage.

Sorry about the accident, but congrats on the new ride. Would you say the increment improvements make your '16 Z better than the '09? Pics?

There are definitely some changes. The 09 I got was built in Nov 08, so it was a very early model. There was something missing inside the driver door panel that would make the window rattle when it was rolled down and you closed the door. (Passenger side didn't do this.)

Also, the subwoofer in my 09 was definitely wired out of phase. The system in my 16 thumps much more than the 09 did, and I'm pretty sure its the exact same system. Overall, you can tell they've figured out some of the bugs and fixed them.

I've also noticed some small things have changed--gas cap assembly is different, silver fuel gauge has been replaced with a black one, and the wheel well material feels like cloth on the 16 and the 09 was plastic.

I'm not a big fan of the artificial engine noise they pump in to the cabin either. However, it is kind of nice having the active noise cancellation. The inside is much quieter than my 09 was. You can really tell they've added sound insulation.

Ouch!! That car had to be coming at a pretty good speed. Enjoy the new ride.

Hit from both ends...wow! Glad that you're okay to be posting about it. And congrats on the new beginning!
