Bypass valve for 370z

Hey guys of z community can anybody give an opinion(s) about getting a bypass
valve for my 370z if i get the Stillen gen 3 coldair intake installed. Does it already have hydrolocking protection? my concern is that if i run over a decent size puddle the water would get sucked up by the intakes and coz engine lockdown.

Plan on forging some rivers? You wont have any issues unless your going through standing water thats fairly deep.

You would seriously need to drive through a puddle ~2 feet deep to hydrolock. I'm not saying it's not possible, it would just take a special 'skill' to accomplish this

I had the bypass valve on my aem. For my Integra and civic, definitely gave me peace of mine. But I really don't think the Z needs it...just my thoughts

They shouldn't be needed with the Stillen or Takeda. The Nismo CAI comes with them. The AEM and Injen do not include them, but they may need them. Those intakes are of similar design to the Nismo. Who copied who, it's tough to say...

I'm sure there are other intakes out there that I am not mentioning.

The G3's don't need them. Some of the other cai's DO need them. On the G3's. The filters are high up behind the bumper.

Just don't drive through unknown water depth, Floods. You can splash it up in the intake. By the way, It can happen on a stock car. Hydro-locking is an issue in Savannah, Ga. I think folks think they have a Jon boat....LOL
