NEW PRODUCT! AAM Competition Axleback Exhaust

AAM Competition Axleback Exhaust
MSRP: $719

Introducing the brand new AAM Competition Axleback Exhaust. Designed for those looking to add a sporty exhaust note to an otherwise stock exhaust, or cut out some of the drone from a mufflerless system, the AAM Competition S-Line Axleback Exhaust bolts right up to the factory and factory fitting midpipe. It tucks up neatly underneath the rear of the vehicle for those who want a subtle look or have ground clearance issues.

For the ultimate combination of performance and sound, we recommend combining this with AAM Competition Test Pipes and the AAM Competition S-Line Midpipe

I think the pair is supposed to make 18-20hp. I called up over the phone and the said the mid pipe axle back combo made 18whp on a humid day.

The Axle back alone won't make 15hp, thats what his post was referring too.

The S-Line Axlebacks have been selling way better than we've expected. We're officially all caught up and have some on the shelf ready to ship!

Just installed mine yesterday and I love it! Its quiet when cruising but sounds mean when you get on it. No drone at all which is also very nice.

Shot some video clips last weekend, still need to get some in-car sounds but hopefully I will have a vid up soon. Enjoying them very much.

if I used the AAM midpipe with the stock muffler, would there be much increase in noise (or power)? where I run, have 92db a 50' sound restriction. Thinking of a solution that's quiet in the neighborhood and on the drive to the track, that I can easily swap-out at the track for something lighter - when noise limits permit.
Thanks

Changing the mid-pipe only very very sightly increases the db level. I use the Nismo S-Tune y-pipe and midpipe mated to my stock muffler for a short period, noticed no increase in sound. The stock muffler is pretty damn good at its job, so any noticeable change will have to occur from a muffler change.

BTW, is there any way to get this axle-back with different tips, and also have them welded on? Thats the deal breaker for me, mainly because I dont like the way clamped on tips look. I'd love the Nismo tips from the short tails welded on. Is this a possibility?

I read elsewhere, a person found they lost power with this exhaust, until they'd had their car tuned.
I am competing in a class where we are not allowed to tune our cars (and yes, they might check). Is there any way to get an idea of how things would go without tuning?

Thanks,

I'm wondering the same thing. Specifically regarding the possibility of Nismo tips.
