I set out looking for something with no drone, a deep tone, and not $2000.

I picked up the new AAM Axleback. Looks great, fits perfect.

Impressions:
Stock
We all know it kinda sucks.
Let's say stock is 1/10 on a scale of noise.
10/10 being short tails with test pipes.

AAM Axleback + Stock midpipe/y-pipe
Adds some more volume and bass to the stock tone, slightly louder, deeper under acceleration. No noticeable butt-dyno gains.
Noise = 3/10

AAM Axleback + AAM s-line midpipe/y-pipe
Has turned out to be perfect for my needs. Right amount of volume, very deep, sporty, no rasp, no drone, not too loud to wake up the neighborhood. It fits perfect, in one of the shots it looks like it might be off center, its not. I love how it looks, and the guys at AAM are great to worth with.
Noise = 5/10

Enjoy the video. Friend is working on getting a Go-Pro, and will add some drive-by, and outside the car videos soon, but this will give you the general idea.

PM Jeremy from AAM if you're interested in it, couldn't be happier :)

Excellent video, very clear of the sound differences.

I myself talked to Jeremy and he hooked me up with the exact same setup, Axle-Back plus S-Line Midpipe.

Should have it installed hopefully next week plus some sound samples of my own to share.. But watching this video has further confirmed that I made the right choice going with this setup.

We'll be working on in-car and drive-by videos soon.

You will be very happy with the setup, IMO is perfect for those not looking to terrorize the neighborhood.

Can you take a few more pics of the back of the car. I would like to see how low the mufflers sit.

Sure, but it doesnt sit very low at all. Hasn't come to close to scraping.

I have eibach pro-kit springs. 09 sport package.

Do you have any driveby/flyby videos of the axleback and midpipe combo? or take offs?

ScottOmatic 09-21-2014 07:05 PM

I have a crappy one that I need to re-do. Problem was that my studio mic isnt omni directional so once a sound source isn't close, it doesn't pick up much at all. It needs to be redone with an omni-directional microphone.. but if you turn your speakers way up you can get the idea.. I have a lunch and a driveby, the driveby is even less useful though.

PM me your email if you want me to send you the vids I have. As stated though, they aren't really a fair representation.

Coolvans, we are not talking about the short-tails, that is a something different.

nvdave04 01-28-2015 10:29 PM

I just wish someone would post some fly by with this setup or anyone with HFC !! I just can't justify spending this much without hearing it !

redline10000 01-29-2015 06:26 PM

Ill try to post next week!
