Stillen G III intake..... WTF??

Ok so Im doing my oil change and I notice.... one of my Stillen G3 intake air filters has a small rip in the filter... So I call Stillen to get a price for a new filter and they want... $43.00 a pop.... WTF

Does anyone know if I can find a place that selles the flter cheaper?? Autozone maybe?

Stillen said they are the only ones that have the filters for the intake... is this true??:shakes head:

Go to the K&N website with the dimensions of the filter you need. No way Stillen is the only one who can get them. In their defense though, that's not an unreasonable price for a conical K&N filter.

Do you know what the dimensions are by chance?

Nope. If they're the same filter as the G37 I can get you a measurement this weekend.

I believe they are... lso would it matter if I got a diffrent size K&N? if it does not matter I can go to AutoZone and just pick one up.

If your autozone has K&N filters, that would work. All I remember seeing at my local one was Spectre garbage, so I couldn't tell you. Would two different sized filters have different enough flow characteristics to confuse the car?

Honestly, I'd just get it from Stillen. Their price isn't that bad. I paid about that for each K&N I've got.

The filters for the Gen 3's are K&N's...and yes, they're about $40 each.
K&N Part RU-2820

Just the one unless the other one is damaged. They last forever. Maybe grab a cleaning kit since you've got to pull the bumper anyway so you might as well clean the one you're not replacing.

Unless you want to go all out and make sure you have two full sets so you don't have to wait for the filters to dry when you're cleaning them. Just swap them for the other set and clean them at your leisure. But that would require you to buy 3 of them.
