Looking for Input on Silicone PCV Breather Hoses

As the title indicates, I'm looking for feedback/input from those of you who have installed the silicone PCV breather hoses available from Z1. I understand that the install involves bypassing the plastic "baffles" that are part of the stock arrangement. Based on my reading of earlier posts, I'm not certain if anyone knows the purpose of the baffles ... other than perhaps noise suppression (??). It appears that they are simply hollow inside. That said, obviously some Nissan "engineer" thought they were necessary. I just need to know "how necessary"? In other words, has anyone who has installed the silicone breather hoses experienced any problems/issues? Thanks!

is will cause no issues what so ever. and there are alot of unnecessary things in our engine bay those being a prime example. there main purpose i believe is just for sound supression and previously stated. only reason i moved to the z1 hoses is because i was habing fit ment issues with my still intakes and stock pvc hosing. fixed this issue right up.

If you upgrade to aftermarket intake the stock PVC hoses will crack eventually. I know because I am speaking from experience. Mine crack, I order the Z1 hoses, installed them, haven't had any issues since, and not to mention the red tubes look kinda cool when I pop the hood :excited:

OK, thanks for the input. I have the silicone post-MAF intake tubes. So I'm thinking of simply coupling the PCV breather hoses to the post-MAF tubes. Anyone have any experience with this type of set-up?

I thought the stock baffles served a dual purpose - Sound supressing and preventing too much oil from entering the throttle bodies/plenum.

The Z1 motorsports Silicone breather tubes come with baffles that are suppose to assist in keeping the throttle bodies/plenum cleaner (the baffles are a half inch piece of metal with a hole drilled through it that fit tightly in the tubes)

I have K&N Typhoons, and I had to cut the length of the Z1 tubes because they weren't an exact fit, also had to use my own clamps as they did not fit the K&N Typhoon breather outlet.
