Thank you PR370z. Could you post some pictures of your setup? Also that dyno sheet will be good to see.
From which part of PR are you? |
G3's are the best.
I am a tight arse until I can go FI, even so I would not drop 500 bucks on them, drop ins and Post MAFs = win in bang for buck. |
In the end its all about the duct, or the filters...
I would say f5.. although your going for numbers. Ask vendors for before and after dyno results. |
Most gains = Stillen Gen 3... but that comes at a cost of making permanent chances to your car (making the intake holes bigger), and more involved installation/maintenance (removing the bumper).
R2c is the best short ram intake, hands down. Easier installation/maintenance. Dry filters that only need to be cleaned with compressed air from the inside-out. It all depends on how comfortable you are working on your car. |
when is all this power coming on?
Guys I think he not only needs to know who makes more power, but where is is coming on at 3500rpm? 5000rpm? 7000rpm?. some people like low end some mid range and some high end. I think this along with install ease is what alot of people look for. just my two cents:tup:

Injen CAI the only true cold air intake.
As Stillen is a ram air intake and then there are short ram intakes like JWT and Rz2. But the op was not clear with his question he only asked which is the best intake. Best from what? HP, price, fitment, CAI, short ram, long ram, filtration. They all have their pros and cons. Heat soak, cutting into the body of car and the maintenence of the filters located in the bottom of the bumper. I would tend to agree that Stillen as being less likely to hydrolock that is of the long tube designs. But I did not relish cutting the body of the car to install them. I prefer the dry air filter over the cotton oil based, more filtration but with a loss of power. I can live with this versus a dirty running engine. Cleaning of the Injen filters can be done without having to remove the bumper. Just pop the pins on the inner fender well and remove clean and reinstall. Fit and finish (polished black) = Injen CAI |
a bit off subject but i have to know for those who have the stillen gen 3 intakes especially on the nismos, how do u manage to clean the filters, do u have to remove the bumper everytime u need to clean them.
|
Uh, is there a discount code at corsportusa that anyone knows about for the HPS? These things look pretty cool, kinda pricey for some silicone tubes though. But hey if they are high quality and work.......

Do the HPS tubes really work? Its such a small area.

Stillen

Has anyone put the Stillen Gen 3 intakes on a Nismo? I know you can do it by removing that brace, but it makes me wonder what that brace does exactly? If it helps to stiffen the car somehow, i wouldnt want to remove this...

The pic shows that it fits and looks really cool but does it give you the " Oh yeah, glad I got these! I go faster now buahahaha "
