Replicate this Exhaust tone

Hey everyone,

What exhaust combinations on the Z will replicate the sound of the G35 in the video?

Best Sounding G35 EVER (Topspeed Exhaust w/ BERK HFC) - YouTube

I'm shopping around for exhaust system, and I really like the sound of that G35. However, I'm confused as to what combination could make that noise.

I've been doing my research and it seems as though FI + Berk HFC come closest.

Any help would be great.

It doesn't sound that great to me, not bad though.

no offense if that G35 is yours.... but it sounds horrible!! like a Honda civic raspy as hell:roflpuke2:

Say no to Top Speed. It sounds very regular VQ motor, nothing special to be honest. I think most sound like that, a bit better to be honest. The major issues with HFCs and TPs is that you get mute drone and hiss and rasp. Also never judge an exhaust by the sound it makes when it's cold or not being driven.

At the next meet ask for a drive in people's cars. You're more than welcome to take mine out. I let David take it. But unless you're willing to do a lot of mods your car won't really sound like mine

I don't think u need that many upgrades to have a nice sounding exhaust. its truly all about pairing things up the right way, without compromising parts that don't belong with other parts.......

I have mild upgrades. I have at least one person at every 4th light say something about the way my car sounds. Now yes I have no blow off valve or winding pulley that really catches your attention:yum:. but I think a full headers back exhaust with the right set up & tuned will give u an awesome sounding Z:tiphat:

^^^I agree with you. It's just that on MY car I have authentic Momentum headers, double resonated TPs a Stillen exhaust and if the intake really matters, I have G3s

I know it is a personal choice but why would you like to replicate it? It does not sound great compared to other well documented exhaust notes.

For me, FI and Motordyne set the standard. Berk's HFC's with a solid set of CBE's (other than FI or MD, Invidia, Beluga (ShadeZZ has it), and Ark to name a few), will sound great but try your hardest not to replicate the G35 in that video. I agree with DE.50 - go to the meets and listen to others. I let Lumbuscobob get in mine for a listen and drove around before he decided on picking up resonated HFC's from FI. He searched around for the combination he was looking for and went for drive to listen inside and outside before making his choice.

This is how our Z's should sound.

JohnnyDrama's - he's not around here anymore and sold the car. I like 2:40

And this.....

BoostLee's ---- wait 'til you get to 4:49

I'm going to cast my vote in for an exotic speed catback. Sounded awesome on my car. And paired with R2C intakes it gave it a mean growl.

This is my car after the supercharger was installed... Not a super great vid, just idle and a couple revs.

Fast Intentions is the closest and the best you can get.

I placed an order with FI a few weeks ago
