Another exhaust thread

So I got my motordyne e370 about 2 months ago and I absolutely love the volume and sound but it hangs too low. I'm very low and I was driving to my dads house for thanksgiving dinner today, hit a bump and smacked the exhaust(vband clamp to be exact) and it broke and flew off.
So my question is what catback exhaust is about the same volume or a little louder and is the same type of design as the invidia Gemini, how it hangs much higher and the muffler is tucked right up in the center rear.

TerribleONE 11-28-2013 05:59 PM

It seems all the center style muffler exhausts are a bit quieter. May wanna take a look at berk and go to some HFCs as well

Tempestz 11-28-2013 06:51 PM

Are you going to be selling your motordyne?

The AAM midpipe is tucked up pretty well

+1 for the AAM midepipe. That's what I'm going with this time around.

Now I sound like an ad but it's on sale right now 15% off :happydance:

Lowbz21 11-28-2013 07:59 PM

Yeah it will be up for sale as soon as I get something else. And I already have test pipes so my only option to get volume the same is for a similar volume catback. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the gthaus is the only exhaust that is louder than the berk in that same design, but the volume difference is huge right?

Lowbz21 11-30-2013 10:43 AM

Up

synolimit 11-30-2013 11:09 AM

No room above the exhaust? I'd have the hangers shortened.

Nope, the lowest part of the exhaust can't go any higher before it hits something unfortunately

Lowbz21 12-01-2013 09:51 PM

Does anyone know how loud the gtm 2.5" exhaust is in comparison to some of the other exhausts out there?

MacLean 12-01-2013 10:44 PM

I really cannot say, but I can say that the Meisterschaft exhaust is probably the most sexiest, unique, and loudest exhaust on the market. At the end if the day it all depends on what your running with the exhaust....HFC, TP, LTH, or etc.

I have test pipes right now, I'm just hoping I can find an exhaust that is a little more tame than the gthaus but as loud or louder than my motordyne.

You can always go with F. I. exhaust, but as you stated you have TP.

The main reason I'm changing my exhaust is because I need something that is tucked up high

I see now.... Have you thought about going with the Stillen exhaust?

Tempestz 12-02-2013 02:18 PM

Test pipes with the GT haus will Be extremely loud, I used to have the GThaus. Maclean can probably atest to that as well.

AAM midpipe with short tails is pretty loud also, not quite as loud as GTHAUS. but its louder than the stillen and I believe that the above(AAM midpipe and short tails) you will most likely make more power also. just a few suggestions.

Also, i will keep an eye out for that Motordyne.

I the love GTHaus exhaust sound. The exhaust can get pretty effen loud and without a question turns heads.

TP with the GTHaus exhaust would be pretty brutal, but LTH with the exhaust is just plan effen crazy/mad. I'm waiting for my F. I. Resonated HFC to come in and will have them installed on 12/13/13.

AAM Midpope with short tails is pretty loud too. I agree with keeping an eye on the Motordyne exhaust. You might want to check out the ARK exhaust as well.

The best place is youtube to help you hear what you want, but definitely hit up your local meets to hear the exhaust sounds in person. Hearing something is person is obviously better than watching a video, but do not jump the gun until you are satisfied.

Lowbz21 12-11-2013 08:44 PM

So I ended up getting a gthaus catback and it looks like I will be selling the gthaus and the motordyne exhausts now. The gthaus with testpipes is just way too uncontrolled, basically sounds straightpiped, it's very raspy and too loud(and I love extremely loud which says just how loud it really is. And I love the sound and volume of the motordyne, it just sucks that I have to get rid of it because it hangs too low.
So the search for the right exhaust continues...

SS_Firehawk 12-11-2013 09:14 PM

There was a guy selling a Tanabe full exhaust system including Y pipe for a good price. It will be quieter than your MD exhaust, not sure how bad rasp will be with TP's or if it even exists.

So you went with 2 different exhausts and they weren't good enough for the ground clearance ?

I might have a good option for you but you might not like what you will need to do ...
Its my complete exhaust setup, you can look up my Journal and my Sale thread in the selling section about the Custom Exhaust 3.5''

I made it to have the best ground clearance as possible but it might be a bit too loud for you !

I just posted the motordyne exhaust for sale for the people that said they'd be interested

Zensation 12-12-2013 05:20 PM

About that gthaus exhaust would you be interested in trading for an hks catback?

I'll pass but thanks for the offer

SS_Firehawk 12-12-2013 05:42 PM

Hell, I'd trade my Tanabe exhaust, MD Y pipe, HFC, and resonator for the MD exhaust.

Ohh I've heard your car on YouTube, definitely one of my favorite sounding 370s, can't wait to get lth

SS_Firehawk 12-12-2013 07:05 PM

I love my exhaust, and there are only a couple other exhausts I'm willing to try over my own... the MD and F.I. with 12" or 18" resonators. Not sure if it would sound better, but they sound great without headers. I do have a few more vids on page 18 or 19 in my journal of my setup.

Yeah I wish I was able to keep it long enough to see how it would sound with headers because I wasn't able to find any videos. For some reason I was never sold on the f.i. exhausts.
