Looking for local car for intake manifold testing

Hi Guy

Just like the thread says I'm looking for a local 370Z/G37 that can leave their car at our shop for a few days while we test out our new intake manifold. Currently only looking for an NA car.

When is all said and done you'll walk away with before and after Dyno sheets and a fresh EcuTek tune.

Looking forward to hearing from some of you.

Btw the shop is in Westbury Long Island

Thanks

John

I'd take composite any day of the week!!! Resists heat unlike metal. You don't want any metal and get heat soak.

Some prefer to use their air intake tract as a heatsink for the engine bay:ugh2:! Non-conductive materials FTW!

Unless it adds tons and tons of power you'll end up losing I bet if metal. Dyno uncorrected in the winter and summer and you'll see. I would show 10-30 hp difference. if your manifolds heat soaked in summer traffic and in the pits etc, you'll be way down on power. Gaining power for one pull on a corrected dyno means nothing if you can't achieve that power 24/7.

If you need a car, mine is available... Located south shore of long island, no issue dropping the car to you guys though.

Heard this a thousand times before. Be nice for someone to surprise us. Course building a intake manifold and you don't have your own car to test it on more or less design process makes me question.

In for updates!

Me too. :D

I really wish if someone is going to offer products just make a batch have them ready to go and then release your new found product. Be confident in what you make. It will sell.

Huck 12-01-2013 12:23 AM

Hell if I were local I'd be down just for the ecutek tune. I've been wanting to try that out.

Zdayz 2014!!

Leuz 12-01-2013 11:35 AM

Sub'd for updates. The intake manifold choice for our Z's needs to grow.

visconti 12-01-2013 01:18 PM

Thanks everyone

Got a much bigger response than I thought

I'll keep everyone updated

Me too. Every one else other than Motordyne has failed pretty miserably getting a product out for sale. I'm pulling for someone to get another manifold option out there.

AzSpeng 12-01-2013 02:14 PM

I would be highly interested in building one for you guys. It wont be cheap though...nor will it look or perform like doo doo

Well, GTM has the GTR manifold conversion for around $2k, no proof of power gains and no word on when its actually available. Motordyne has a manifold for $500 or so, it makes noticeable midrange torque at the expense of peak, and it looks as bad as stock. Those are the options we have at the moment. That's your competition.

AzSpeng 12-01-2013 02:25 PM

I was thinking around the $1200-1700 range so thats on par. And I own tons of brand new cnc equipment to make some really kick *** dare I say "not as bad as stock" looking products.

Then get to it. There's a lot of pent up demand for a product that makes proven power. You'll sell a bunch if you make power.

AzSpeng 12-01-2013 02:28 PM

Someone bring a car down :) I'll pay for dyno time.

Mandingo 12-01-2013 08:20 PM

I just sufscribleded to this thread for updates

SPOHN 12-01-2013 10:08 PM

As I said. I don't care for numbers. I just want a good looking piece. Besides the Kinetics one.

AzSpeng 12-01-2013 10:11 PM

Once my press brake is delivered ill get one made ASAP. Ill start on the flanges this week and get them cutting in the mill.
