F-1 sound alike for 370z exhaust?
 

Hi guys. I just can't get enough of F-1 exhaust tone and I was wondering if there is a exhaust system out there that sounds like F-1 for our 370z.

Now I know what you guys are thinking. There's no possible way for a V6 370z to sound like an F-1. And I agree. But I just want to know what exhaust system comes closest to that sound.

I love the high pitched zeepy noise that sort of stings your ear. Examples of some of the F-1 sound alike cars include:

-Ferrari 360 Challenge
-Ferrari F-12 Berlinetta
-Porsche Carrera GT

I don't like the deep/quite tone like Stillen CBE, etc

Then you bought the wrong car sir. The nearest you can get to is with long tube headers and a high pitched catback but that won't even bring you anywhere near an F1 car. We need much shorter strokes and a much higher red-line. A few more cylinders wouldn't hurt either :D

Maybe try too look for the balls of the Z squeeze it then it might squill with a high pitch tone!:tup:

Only V8,V10 or V12 can produced such sound..

I'm sure you could pick one up from the Marussia or Caterham team for a good price for a barely used engine. :roflpuke2:

If you have the money buy the japanese SACLAM silencer kit. It sounds mean, load, and high pitched. but it's like $3500 plus importing it.

Critical that first video sounded like the exhaust was busted!

Get out to your local clubs to get first hand feel

If you want loud, go get some short tails and test pipes. It isn't F1 loud, but it will put a smile on your face. Won't break the bank either. Otherwise, I'd suggest the Amuse single exit exhaust. But you'll be spending a lot for that.

Sorry, we can't produce a tone remotely close to that high or crisp. it's jut not gonna happen. i know, that's not what u wanted to hear, but it's the truth. that's like people wanting their vq's to have a v8 rumble. just no way can u changed an engines pitch that drastically. vq's don't rev near high enough for that sorta tone.

MAAAAYBE if u had an s2000 and MAAAAYBE if u changed the redline to close to 10k, and MAAAYBE if u put a ti system on it, it could begin to sound super high pitch. but not in a large displacement 6 cyl. pistons are too big, and stroke is too long

Nothing is ever going to sound like a modern F1 car unless you play some 15-19khz tones through your speakers.

Even the old (1930s-1940s) F1 cars ran around 9k rpm in a little 1.5L i8 engine and made more power then our cars

Kreissieg exhausts cost an arm and a leg. There's one for the gtr that runs about 8k. If I ever get a gtr I'd totally get that exhaust though, cause **** it I have a gtr

I think the best way to get that with the 370Z is running headers and keep resonators to a minimum. Resonators lower the pitch, headers increase, but you'll be playing a balancing act with rasp for sure. Car will sound great at full song, and then sound like *** when you aren't.

I just made an extended version of one of my vids, and it does have a high pitch wail when I'm flogging her. Just giving you an idea of what it could sound like. This is with PPE long tubes, Motordyne Y pipe with the HFC module, and Tanabe Medallion exhaust. Supercharging did change the sound a bit, but not much, just louder.

This is the closest I've heard our cars come to sounding like an F1 car. I'm not sure if this gentleman is registered on this forum, but the person who posted the video to youtube listed every modification to the car under the description.




It seems like the STS turbo kit + PPE LTH = the sound you're going for. There are a few other videos on youtube if you search "sts turbo 370z PPE". At high RPM the car sounds unreal, but at low RPM it sounds overwhelmingly raspy.

When I hear that, this what I imagine in my head, not an F1 :rofl2:

that sounds wicked! yep i agree. i went full resonators cause i daily my car. freaking love high pitched exhaust notes though.

Man.......The STS sounds pretty nice when you wind it out. I just can't deal with the placement of the turbo or the piping maze, lol. I'll stick with my Greddy 20G and Fast Intentions TT-TDX. Good luck in your quest though.

GT Haus is the closest your going to get. I had it, my videos kinda suck because I do not have a proper mic setup. It is very exotic, AND LOUD!

Fast intentions non-resonated with carbon fiber mufflers has a pretty high pitched and high volume note to it.

omg those high pitched angry bumble bee buzzing fart can videos sound HORRID. thats not exhaust, thats just noise. If you like that sound, please by all means continue to rev your honda at 11pm thinking it sounds amazing, when in fact its *** and everyone within 2 blocks wants to kill you.

well F1 needs RPM's for the correct tone as stated, so no real chance there, but going to a single exhaust plus long tubes would close the pulses up a bit and give it a higher pitch so long as you don't fart can it out.
