Fast Intentions Exhaust Questions

Guys a few questions on this exhaust. I have the a stock nismo 13 and I'm looking to get the FI exhaust. I heard that the CF cbe gives it somewhat of a more exotic note. Not sure how accurate that statement was and whether or not the material actually affects the sound of the exhaust.

I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the cf as I'm scared it may look ricey. Is there any difference in sound between SS and cf? My goal is to get as close as possible to a high pitch exotic note, which I understand may not be fully attainable.

One more thing, do I need to get a tune on the car or a flash once I get the exhaust in order to get the performance, or is the nismo mapping sufficient? Im only going to do air filters, hfc, and cbe. Thanks.

Oh one more thing, if any body had any other exhaust suggestions for achieving a high pitched exotic note, I'm all ears. Price isn't a factor since I'm not planning on doing too much to the car.

If you look back though this thread there is some audio with the CF. I'm still waiting on mine to arrive Oct-Nov, I originally ordered SS but, upgraded to CF. I can shoot you some audio once it is installed.

Hey OP welcome! and trust me F.I is worth the wait I'm expecting mine next week and quoting tony this is what he said..

Here is what I tell everyone when choosing SS vs CF.1) The Carbon Fiber will sound a little more exotic and promote more of a Euro tone opposed to the Stainless Steel being smoother and deeper.*2) The Carbon Fiber is lighter than the Stainless Steel by roughly 6 pounds overall.*In the end make the choice mostly based on the aesthetics. The other reasons play a small part in the equation. Now I am biased to the Carbon Fiber because I love the way it looks! Everyone wants something different therefore we have different options. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to call me directly.Thank you, Tony

Got it, thanks for the response and the input. Since the difference seems to be pretty negligible ill prob go w ss. Ill reach out to tony tho. Thanks!

The CF will not look ricey at all in fact, it is a lot more stealth looking than the SS. I for one dislike all that ricey, fast & furious http://www.uzitalk.com/forums/images/smilies/bull.gif

I have the non-res CF system & love it. The SS has a deeper sound while the CF has a little higher pitched sound. Try to find someone out towards you that has them. They are really nice & you can't do business with anyone better than Tony. His work is amazing & his customer support unparalleled.

Cf fi

Too ricey? not by far, I chose it strictly because it blended so well with the undercarriage of the car. so stealth. maybe because my z is black it blends so well..the polished canisters to me were just to flashy. No regrets on the CF whatsoever.

I took this video for anybody who might be on the fence...

Nismo 370Z w/ Berk HFCs and Fast Intentions Carbon Fiber CBE (12" resonators) - YouTube

I don't think this can be characterized as ricey at all; I get nothing but compliments from young people and older folks alike. A mid-50s guy in a work truck stopped me at the gas station to tell me how awesome it sounded when I downshifted coming up behind him at a light. It turns heads everywhere, but just the right amount... it's not so loud that it makes you have that "Please look at me?" vibe, but it definitely catches attention.

The FI Exhaust is anything but ricey. It sounds deep, yields about 20 whp, and has top-notch craftsmanship matched with unrivalled customer service. I love mine .

CF is great. ss stands out more than CF. at nighttime the cf looks black. Actually it looks pretty close to black during the day too, being under the car's shadow. Doesnt sound ricey at all. The tips also look perfect with the rear of the car. Some other exhausts i've seen pics of, the tips stick out pretty far, which I don't like the look of. The tips on this exhaust look awesome. The carbon fiber just looks very high quality and professional. No complaints at all, I love my system. Also check out page 176 of the "Fast Intentions exhaust is here! (continued)" thread, I have pics of my cf exhaust on that page.

The sound has to do with the material and how the cans are sealed. You should ask Tony for details. He explained this in someone's post.

As far as ricey.........rice is in the eyes of the beholder......
I really want to help you decide so here are some shots. Your call.
