Wrapping HFCs
Ive seen a lot of coments about wrapping HFCs both positive and negative. I have the dei kit for my headders and had enough left to do my cats.....any thoughts? Car is NA with full boltons

I helped a buddy of mine wrap his Berks for his G37. No negative effects so far. No noticeable positive effects either, although he swears it's a touch quieter than another friend's identically modded G37.

Probably not much benefit for a street car but on the track it helps to keep your feet cooler. The transmission tunnel near your feet gets red hot on track with carpets removed, LOL.

I wrapped my art pipes and no more noise ...

Isn't there an issue with catalytic converters disintegrating when they get too hot? Would that possibly be increased with wrapping, since it traps more heat inside, or does the lower cel count negate that? |

Well done....still need to add a few ties. I did it wet and will let it dry before the silicone spray.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/26/zy9ery7y.jpg
Not the best by any means but should do the job. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2 |
Be prepared for it to smoke. A lot.

Lol, call me vain, but I think they look badass with the black wrap and metal bits

Personally those Crocs rock!

No its fine. Turbo cars run way hotter than a NA and they don't have issues. Wrap everything! Keep temps down on everything near any exhaust part! |

Looks like the new stuff since he said he hasn't sprayed it yet. I've never played with the new Ti stuff since I bought way, way too much of the old stuff and still haven't used it all.
Am I the only one who kinda likes the way it smells when it's burning in? |

What's with this silicone spray?
I have Ti wrap... And I wouldn't use anything else... Do I need to use this silicone spray? |
The kit i used was the one that Z1 sells. I do not believe that its Ti wrap at all, just standard however the silicone spray is supposed to give better corrosion and heat resistance. Ill get a photo up when i get them sprayed. (waiting on another pack of clips to come now just to be sure its all secured before i spray them) I installed wet as recommended and it was easy enough. I was a little worried i f-d up and it was too loose but when it dried it tightened right up and is pretty good.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-010102/overview/ This s Ti, 1800*, feels like silk, easy to work with and doesn't need to get wet. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dei-010127/overview/ |
The difference I suppose is the water resistant protection offered with the coating. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/07/28/aga2eza6.jpg
