magna flow exhaust?

i've just googled some exhaust and it seems like magna flow is going to make an exhaust for the 370z, but no specs yet.

does anyone have any feedback towards their products?

m4a1mustang 07-30-2009 02:16 PM

Absolutely loved them on my Mustang.

Ryan@Forged 07-30-2009 02:29 PM

I believe there are better options out there. Their stuff is not bad, but it's not great either. Just my 2 cents.

arcticreaver 07-30-2009 02:33 PM

^ performance wise or quality wise?

Ryan@Forged 07-30-2009 02:51 PM

both. Like I said, it's not poor quality, and it's not poor performance. It's also not going to be the best. I would look around and check out your options ;)

I had a magnaflow exhaust on my G35, great sound, good gains w/o the ricey look of a fart can styled muffler, if Mario Andretti endorses em, its good enough for me! BTW, on their website, seems like it might not be a true dual. Can't really beat their pricing though!

arcticreaver 07-30-2009 09:41 PM

looks like the dyno results for their 350z comes to about 10hp gain and 10 lb-ft gain. i guess that is pretty decent.

Red370 07-30-2009 10:48 PM

10hp isnt bad at all, I had that along with the Stillen intake, plenum spacer, and dynamax HFC's and made 258whp, base was 231, so overall, not bad.

bigaudiofanat 09-03-2009 05:49 PM

I use to have a magnaflow on my civic sounded great. It did not sound ricy or to loud and it sounded factory at cruising but as soon as you put your foot down you hear it. I am looking forward to them coming out with one. My choices will be them or stillen.

Magnaflow won't even be on my radar when it comes time to pick an exhaust-system. I've never been impressed with any of their offerings. It's right there with Flowmaster.

I guess being able to order it from Pep Boys or AutoZone can be a plus.

Daishi 09-04-2009 08:34 AM

magnaflow sucks. piping rusts very quickly. dont even bother.

bigaudiofanat 09-04-2009 08:52 AM

There t-304 SS they do not rust, I use to have one for over 2 years not one bit of rust.

Shunya 09-04-2009 09:38 AM

I dun like this brand...

bigaudiofanat 09-04-2009 09:40 AM

FuszNissan 09-04-2009 09:54 AM

Magnaflow FTL

bigaudiofanat 09-04-2009 09:55 AM

I had mine on my civic for 2 years in the salt and all and not one problem. I will probably still go with them when I get my z.

:iagree:I had Magnaflow on my '06 Mustang and was happy with it. Although, I personally would go after something better...like what Fast Intentions has to offer.

Daishi 09-04-2009 12:46 PM

Magnashit haha

LOL I took a magnet to mine before it went up. Mine was I do know that there are a lot of knock off ones that say they are magnaflow but there not. Oh well like I said it is between stillen and magnaflow for me. I am not looking for a crazy loud sound.

This is my DC2's Exhaust System.

J's Racing 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold. ($900)
http://www.n1concepts.com/v/vspfiles...-XARS-T2-2.jpg
Quote:

J's Racing 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold is designed for all around rpm performance and
has been specifically developed for daily driven cars and mildly tuned engines.
The Response Header features a 4-2-1 design for optimal mid-range power while still providing significant high rpm gains.
In addition, the primary collectors are port matched to the cylinder head's exhaust ports to maximize smooth exhaust flow.
Consequently, the J's Racing 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold offers improved engine response and a dyno proven 10+hp to the wheels.
J's Racing 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifolds are hand made from 100% SUS304 aircraft grade stainless steel and feature TIG welded construction.
Due to the 4-2-1 design, the J's Racing 4-2-1 Exhaust Manifold has no ground clearance issues.
A 2.5" collector is included with the Exhaust Manifold.
T1R Racing Convertor ($150)
http://www.aj-racing.com/shop/image.php?type=D&id=2208

Quote:

For maxiumum exhaust flow and power gain,
the stock catalytic converter must be replaced with a free flowing test pipe.
T1R offers the Racing Converter, a high flowing resonated test pipe, for this purpose.
Unlike most test pipes which are simply straight pipes and increase exhaust noise significantly,
the Racing Converter is fully resonated to reduce sound levels.
It is a fully plug and play unit; it is a direct fit replacement and comes with all the necessary sensor holes.
When installed in conjuction with header and exhaust, 3-5whp gain can be expected.
Like all T1R exhaust products, the Racing Converter is made from
SUS304 aircraft grade stainless steel and features TIG welded construction.
Recommended for track and race use only.
MUGEN POWER /// Twin Loop Silencer Cat Back Exhaust System ($1800)
http://www.tdi-plc.com/catalog/image...RO%20SPEC).png
Quote:

Silencing characteristics and the quest for exhaust efficiency:
the two requirements imposed on exhaust systems have a contrary relationship,
and in practice it is extremely difficult to achieve both.
At Mugen, we have continued to employ the straight configuration,
with the design philosophy that low exhaust pressure must be provided,
and that reducing exhaust resistance is an important part of the ideal exhaust system.

The straight configuration is widely used in racing,
and is ideal because, as the name suggests, it provides low exhaust resistance.
However, large silencers are generally required,
as there may be problems with mid to low frequency band silencing and scattering of sound absorbing material
such as glass wool with the straight configuration.
15+whp should be expected

Magnaflow was ok when I was into Mustangs. Looking for something different for my Z like FI or Stillen.

zZSportZz 09-06-2009 07:24 AM

We need a lot more of these "cheap" exhaust options to start knocking some prices down..I'd love to see 100 cheap exhaust options tomorrow.

HEEHEE :)

1slow370 09-07-2009 05:16 AM

Magnaflow is old school American exhaust that feels for some reason that the only part that should be polished is the tip, therefor no one with an import buys their stuff. Hell to most import owners it looks 10 years old hot out the bender.
