Cleaning my old exhaust
I wasn't able to find another thread on this, maybe because it's a dumb question... :iamwithstupid:
I'm hoping to sell my Nismo exhaust now that I've got the FI CBE exhaust installed; I noticed some of the people posting pics of theirs had cleaned them up nicely for their prospective buyers. Any tips on doing this once it's off the car? What product is safe to use? I'm assuming it's not that sensitive since it's getting soiled with road grime anyway. Also, do I need to plug the ends of, say, the H pipe or will it be fine if I don't spray directly inside? TIA. |
Elbow grease and "Mother's Metal Polish"
|
Brasso, Never-dull, take your pick of product but +1 on the elbow grease
|
I think I use that never dull stuff too. Little stainless looking can? Good stuff if its the same stuff!
Add another for elbow grease, just scrub it up man! Steel wool works on larger, harder to removed deposits but be careful on what surface your using that on. |

Elbow grease?!? pfffftt Get some small wire brushes and buffing pad for your drill motor. :)
Clean non-shiny stuff with the brushes then polish the shiny parts with Brasso (or equiv). |
Adam's Metal Polishes paired with microfiber pads will do wonders :tiphat:

Are metal polish products OK to use on something like the Invidia TI tips? I don't want the nice blueish to disappear after polishing...
