AAM Short Tail/Midpipe?

Anyone here rockin this combo yet?

I'm curious as to the drone with the short tails, and perhaps if it's better after adding the midpipe? Is it a tolerable combo for highway driving?

If I were to do this, the Z1 headers will be an option later on, and I will likely go with HFCs (or a good RTP) just to minimize rasp if they are an option when Z1 finalizes the header.

I had an Ark Exhaust and I'm looking to optimize power with my N/A build. I'm investigating options as the Ark Grip is backordered for a while and the DT-S doesn't really appeal to me. Would be a plus if anyone has had experience with both.

Thanks!

I currently am not rocking it but have decided on going this route. The gains are on the website for AAM and they seem to be the best gains for any kind of "cat back exhaust." As far as loudness they seem pretty loud, haha.

I found this the other day and that's actually what made me decide on it pretty loud and sounds pretty awesome. Also great dyno gains.

Heres the site with the dyno gains too.

I have the set up I thinks it's sick.... But than again I don't mind a loud car... There is drone but you can control it

I had the Ark Grip V2 exhaust. It hangs too low IMO and the passenger side cans will always hang lower no matter how much you adjust.

TeamArk posted their dyno finally after a car that put on the CBE. Lets just say that it wasn't on par with the other CBEs in their price range.

Where's the dyno? I still haven't seen anything

gonna bump this thread as I'm investigating options again.

also want to see the dyno for the Ark - a lot of people have been asking about it.

When you say investigating you mean for some paper you are writing for a class you are taking? Thought you were going to buy the FI if the guy buys your Ark?

I have the short tails now, and the only reason I havent purchased the midpipe is the sound will be too loud.

I live at an apartment complex and they already are pissed some mornings when I leave for work at 5am.

I love the gains, but i would recommend getting the midpipe and then either keeping the stock exhaust and get different tips, or keep the short tails but add another set of resonators to keep the drone down.

Merely preparing contingencies if this whole thing falls through, sir. Not to worry

With no mufflers, the car is gonna scream. Im running the Litespeed exhaust with Momentum headers and Non resonated test pipes and this car screams! Drone isnt terrible, normal driving isnt bad but cold starts are Loud. AAM's setup is a true dual though and i thought about making the switch...

I asked Khoi in terms on pairing the set, here is his response.

Honestly the volume doesn't really get louder, the exhaust note just changes a bit, and during idle you can really hear that you have a full catback. Essentially with both you'll have a straight pipe catback, thus the gains. The 2.5" h-pipe (true dual) design is really where you see the gains on non-nismos

Does the s-line midpipe have a better control on the drone?

Over stock? I wouldn't say so, without any mufflers in the system the drone is going to be there
