It's coming, no worries!!

I would like to see this as well as the current midpipe in 70 or 75mm with 4.5" tips.

I'm interested as well I'm attracted to the gains of the s line mid pipe but afraid of how loud the combo with short tails will be with test pipes as that is part of my build plan.

It should be epic! I am tempted to jump on the train here, but I like my TDX too much right now.

bump:)

Our engineer drew out the fixture and it came in. We will be ready to make a couple of these to test fit them within the next month or 2 :)

Thanks for the reply Khoi. I would be willing to try it out with a discount...hehehe. I just got myself a DD so I would like something little louder, and more refined than the nismo axle back.

Wantom 06-10-2013 06:50 PM

No.... Short tails aren't that loud.... Some people are just pansies... ;)

I'm just kidding... If the muffler makes the look a little bit better I may be interested....

With the "cross-over" design, it's going to be relatively tucked, but will sound much more tamed vs the short tails haha

When you say muffled, do you mean this will be a baffled design or straight thru?

They're straight through mufflers, same one we use in our current true dual systems, MOST round shaped (canister style) mufflers are straight through designed, some just have bigger chambers than others

Also I put muffled in the title so it's not to get confused with our short tails, which technically is an exhaust back exhaust, or a muffler delete

Depending on price I may be interested. What are the tip sizes? I would like the keep the tips same as nismo oem, 4.5 in.

ZBro16 07-11-2013 07:53 AM

gonna bump this. khoi - is there a lot of drone with the short tails and midpipe on the highway at say 70mph?

I will have the woman in the car for a couple 6+ hour road trips and I'd rather not give her a migraine. lol.

But - I could always ball out and get the axleback section for longer drives and rock the short tails for driving around town and piss all my neighbors off. I have been doing research and having a hard time understanding how loud these things will be and if they cause any drone in top gear.

Thanks! I'm keeping an eye on this thread.

Tip options will be the exact same as the short tails, so we have the 4" tips or the 5" GT-R tips, which fills the Nismo bumper much nicer

Midpipe + short tails is loud, which may even be an understatement. Understand that with the midpipe and short tails you have a 2.5" true dual system with no sound control other than 2 12" resonators in the midpipe. With the new axle back section it should be very tamed and toned out, with sounds comparable to our current true dual system and/or many others out in the market.

If you're concerned about drone, the midpipe + short tails is loud, and with loudness the drone follows. I'd hang tight and wait till this muffled section fully releases or in the mean time you can always grab the midpipe :)

Khoi, these look nice! No benefit in me purchasing one of these, but I am saving up for the true dual right now. A member might have it for sale for me.

ON A SIDE NOTE:What are your opinions on quad tips? Is there enough room on the rear valance to build this muffler and attach quad tips on those little holes?
