Reducing Droning of AAM shortail pipes

Planning on doing a muffler delete and installing a pair of AAM short tails or muffler shop pipes. My question is related to the droning, would installing Dynamat in the rear hatch area reduce the drone? Has anyone tried that?

I don't think so. Welding a hemholtz resonator will though. But the length of the branch must be calculated to the frequency you are trying to tune out

People talk about the "droning" this mod has. Well yeah it has some drone if you drive around at 3.5-4k rpms, but who really drives around in that rpm band? Even at 80mph down the hwy there is no drone if you drive in the proper gear, I guess if you hang it in 5th and cruise in that area, then yeah there is some drone, but again, why would you cruise in such a high rpm range when there is another gear to drop lower into?
