F.I. stuck on which one would be better.

Hello i am looking to get a Fast Intention cat back and wondering resonator or x pipe. What are the pros and cons for both types. Thanks

Naum16 03-21-2013 07:56 AM

by the way on a 2009 370z touring. Am i making a good choice or is the nismo better to go with ? What type of brand intake would be best suited for aggresstion and power because i believe having a good intake is needed to max the proformance of the exhaust what goes in must come out

Morning sir, I sent you a PM explaining all of our options. Once you have had a chance to look it over, either respond to my PM or give me a call here at the shop if you have any other questions or if you would like to place an order. Also, everyone of our systems use an X-pipe, we just have resonated and non-resonated versions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you, Blake

its all depends on how loud you want it. The 18" resonators in the x pipe is the dullest, 12" middle of the road and the non resonated the loudest. (when i say dullest, the sound is still exotic and amazing just not as loud comparatively to the others) The resonators dont affect the performance characteristics of the exhaust at all, they will all still perform the same, no restriction what so ever.

The Nismo in my mind is a waste of money, You can get way nicer body kits and just as much power with aftermarket part. I would personally go with the sport pack but thats just me.

Intakes are 50/50, i think most of us here are using Injen or Stillen. There's a ton of threads about intakes floating around this forum. You'll find plenty of info on the specifics. I had Stillen Gen 3's in my G37 and now i have the Injen's in my Z.

Overall, i would give Tony or Blake a shout over at Fast Intentions. They're super easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable. They can help you pick out the exhaust best for you and explain every detail you'd want to know about them

Keep in mind that the resonators on the exhaust will change the tone/sound of the car at different rpm speeds.

Know you full plan/intent when going with an exhaust as it will definately change the sound of your car.

When I say plan/intent I mean, are you going test pipes, hfc, shorty header or long tube header as those play a big role on how your sound will come out.

Before you decide, please give F.I. a call. Blake/Tony will definately listen to what your end goal/sound wants to be and recommend you the right option.
