If you like Borla, you'll love Bassani. Sadly, they never went into production with their prototype. :(

As far as ident, def looks like a random hks replica to me.

Strangler 02-27-2013 08:18 PM

How are you able tell that it's a replica of the HKS? I have an HKS exhaust and my first impression from the picture was that it was an HKS exhaust. I couldn't tell.

What attributes are you looking for from an exhaust?

I agree. It's hard to tell. I could tell the differences between HKS and its replica Xo2 for g35 coupe from their tips. Definitely they are different qualities. But there are too many HKS knockoffs for the 370z and it's hard to tell...

OP, if it's autheticate HKS Hi-power, congrats! It's a $1500 exhaust system and one of the best looking/sounding exhaust out there.

Sound clip would honestly clear it up. Authentic HKS sounds REAL smooth and Subtle. Top Speed is loud and aggressive.

I took her to dmv for inspection and one of the guys asked what kind of exhaust I had because he really liked the sound... not sure I replied. I'll get a sound clip and post. Maybe I'll keep it. When everybody tells you your girlfriend is hot an you think she's just ok.. you tend to start thinking she might be hot after all?

Damn! Shouldn't have told you it's the HKS Hi-power. Otherwise I might be able to grab it from you for 500 bucks.:icon17:

Just because it was bothering of how the Topspeed Pro1 and the HKS looked so damn similiar.....I finally found a way to tell the difference lol. Sorry for my OCD as this may have already been solved. HKS Exhaust has these brackets on the grenades on the mufflers to help support them to keep them from cracking. I circled them in red. The Top Speed Pro1 exhaust does not.

Just to help anyone else who was interested or possibly the same dilemma in the future.

Replica or not it sounds pretty decent. Not sure what makes the HKS so much better... it's metal tubes and cans stuck together?

HKS is a reputable named brand in Japan just like Amuse or Mine's. The HKS Hi-Power doesn't necessary gain much power(just like other aftermarket exhaust systems), but the quality is top notch. No fitment and rust issues compare to its knock-offs. and I love the sound and the look of the exhaust.

MIGHTYMOUSE 03-06-2013 06:10 PM

That is an hks. I have the top speed true dual with burnt tips and it has those brackets. Also the mid section where the resonators are is different than the top speed because the top speed has more of an x pipe like the ark exhaust and the hks has more of an h pipe. Also the top speed has a screw and bolt at the bottom of the tip where you can adjust it where the hks has it on the sides.
