I have tackled it again. I've been busy work and it's hard to fit time for the z. I'm going to tackle this thing again when my friend has time for my car at his shop. I'm waiting for his nice tools. Haha

On a side note. What exactly Is the HP gains from the headers. I have been briefly looking at some of the header installs and the header look pretty much like stock except they are wrapped and purty. Is there really any NA HP gains or would they header be more useful in a FI setup?

There are some significant gains with long tube headers. Once you start looking at your stock cats and exhaust. You can see just how much restriction is on our cars. I agree with Shovel also, shorties won't give you as much gains but momentum headers. I've heard of good reviews.

try going forward and then backward slowly as well.. like tighten a little then loosen a little.. this will also work it loose. you have to be gentle and not have hands like potatoes. :-P GL

But for the record... both of mine broke as well.. didn't matter.. the test pipes still went on without a problem

yeah, im thinking of using my small dremel and just go to work on that bolt, same with the driver side. cut the head of the bolt and slip in some new ones.

Any news? Post pics when you get it out and the new install. I'm gonna tackle mine in a couple of months and would appreciate all the info...

Ok so here it is. Finally got my cats out and placed in the test pipes. Have to say the ark exhaust and cnt test pipe combo is intoxicating. I can feel a gain in power, and with a proper tune I think it will a bigger difference.

So the battle with the cats ended with the Dremel. The one bolt on the passenger side was the only problem. All the bolts in the driver side came out easy. I was able to sneak an air tool Dremel through the engine bay and cut the head off. Mind you if you were going to try to Dremel the bolt on the driver side, good luck! they're is absolutely no space to get the tool there.

Here are some pics.
