That is one LOUD but BEAST exhaust.. Don't ever take those stock cats off. That'll be intense.

Loud yes, but I might plan to go with AAM HFC, it not loud enough for me.
By the way, how you like the K&N drop-in filters, good gain
in power? I want to be able to keep dual OEM intakes.

In my back to back dyno comparison I gained 8 whp switching to K&N's.

Please let me know if you get those HFCs-

I wanted to get some but NO ONE has done that combo and posted a youtube video or comment or dyno info about it.

The K & N plus MAF Tubes didn't bring me any noticeable power at first. But the more I took off in fourth gear on the freeway, the more I noticed the increase in power.

A tune should give me more whp numbers as well as if I buy the HFCs...

Hmm, there no given dyno number for AAM HFC? Will let you know when Khoi can give out AAM HFC for as birthday present? LOL In that case, I'll will update this thread if I plan to pick up AAM HFC and do a dyno pull without a tune.

I don't have a baseline dyno number for 7AT, so I will have to find someone with factory stock with no mod 7AT to do a dyno pull and compare with mine. Khoi, will you do a one cost dyno pull fee for both 370Z on same day?

I am not really worried about the dyno numbers, I am more worried about the VOLUME of sound coming out of the car after HFCs.. I already gave up on Test Pipes +Short Tails. Unless I got different exhaust.

The dyno numbers for the 7AT vary from 280whp-240whp and tq 195-230...
So i can never get a good estimate of my whp without a dyno.

If the sound isnt that much louder, then i would consider HFCs for sure.

Doug@PTUNING 02-27-2013 08:33 AM

Oh okay. Maybe you should get Amuse axle-back with Motordyne mid-section, stock HFC, it not too loud compare to Meisterschaft. I hear it in person on G37 coupe, sound pretty good and a bit louder than Nismo 370Z with factory cat-back with aftermarket HFC.

I couldn't tell how loud my cat-back because I am hard of hearing, I wear a hearing aids in left ear and am deaf in right ear. That why loudness is hard to tell, my hearing buddies tell me my exhaust set up is loud but it do worries me when police creep up behind me or sideway on the quiet empty road at night, but so far, it not a problem for them yet.

What brand of HFC would you get? I like Berks HFC, very strong design.
I would get AAM HFC because nobody is running them yet in my area, I like to take different route to compare with Berks HFC on my buddie's G37 coupe, and we chat for like a hour about HFC lol.

Oddly, for 7AT 280whp is a lot but there were a customer's G37 coupe with 7AT did a UpRev tune PTUNING, his mod is full Tanabe cat-back system, not sure what intake he had, Berk HFC, he push more than 300whp on the dyno.
One thing I know is manual transmission can push more than 7AT.

Yeah, every car is vary in whp on dyno, it depend how aftermarket part perform on each level. I do understand the noise of exhaust is concern for some drivers. I just like it loud.
