Noob exhaust question

I plan on purchasing a used Nismo exhaust for my base model. Is it worth upgrading to a Nismo mid pipe, and the nismo exhaust as well. Or just keep the stock mid pips and just upgrade to a nismo catback with stock mids? Is that possible?

If you're changing JUST the axle back, don't waste your time...

Why are you "upgrading" and why to the Nismo?

I thought it would be a little more upgraded over the stock exhaust and have a more aggressive sound?

The NISMO catback includes the mid pipe. I bought it, installed it and then sold it. Not much of an increase in sound over the stock exhaust.

Yea the NISMO exhaust is still quiet. Alil deeper than the regular oem exhaust. High flow cats or test pipes do add a deeper growl to it. Test pipes make it alil louder. When i had it on my car i put high flow cats on and it was an improvement.....but in the end i wanted louder haha. If you are interested in the nismo exhaust i actually have one in the for sale section.

You won't be able to mix/match Nismo exhaust parts with base exhaust parts. It's either one or the other. And if you're looking for something better than stock, Nismo in terms of HP Gain/$$ isn't worth it imo. Save up and get something else.

No need to save up, the NISMO performance catback lists for $1800 and sells for around 14-1500 hundred.

It's amazing they even sell any with more affordable, higher performing aftermarket exhausts available... :ugh2:

You have PM sir. :tiphat:

The Nismo exhaust won't give you that much of an improvement on sound or HP for that matter. Maybe if you delete the resonators on the Nismo ehaust itll sound better. I would rather go with invidia gemini cbe for a good sound with some ark resonated hfc. Tanabe has a sweet exhaust, beautiful sound. But if you want a lot of sound get Greddy or AAM. Some problems arise with hfc, but not too sure about test pipes. Test pipes give more hp than hfc and I think they're cheaper.

Dude...many of us that own Nismos swap out our exhaust because they lack in both performance and sound quality. Not saying there those which are not interested in more sound or performance, but if you are looking for more it can be had at a reasonable price.
