...aside from the amazing sound of course lol

maybe i just feel that way since i grew up with my father drag racing and open headers were the smells and sounds i was exposed to at a young age lol

:iagree: I have the headers + CBE and actually like the smell, till I start getting woozy, then it's time to walk away for a bit. :bowrofl:

But at the same time, I like the smell of gasoline by itself, I dunno... Just smells good :icon14:

finally started my Z again after about 2 weeks since it was like 65 yesterday here in PA and the COLDDDDD start was so low sounding from my F.I. exhaust was almost like subs in my hatch.

standing right behind my car i actually felt it thumping in my chest and legs for the first 30 seconds then it went back to normal.

I was worried moving to suburbia in PA that my cold starts would piss off all the neighbors in the HOA and have them  at me. As of yet 1. No one's complained and 2. It's not as loud here as I thought... :ugh2:

:iagree: I really don't mind the smell at all, but don't want the extra attention from police/epa. We apparently have these ba$tard vans that take emissions readings on on-ramps in VA, then mail you a ticket...some for thousands of dollars. I had test pipes on my car before it was TT and it didn't bother me one bit. Now that the car is TT, it is running a little more rich (need to get a custom tune) and the smell is much more noticeable.

Good god man, what is VA trying to do? Be like Cali?!

No Window Tint
No Radar Detectors
No Un-Catted Emissions
No Child Molesters Repealed by VA Legislation 24783-3.1A

:shakes head:

Tell me about it. The laws in VA are pretty nuts when it comes to cars. Not sure about the molesters :roflpuke2:

That is why I have been going back and forth on including the cats in my 3" TDX (Ask Tony, I have changed my mind TWICE already). I didn't have any problems with test pipes (knock on wood), but really don't want to end up getting harassed. I am just hoping I don't have to give up too much power to do that.

All I say is my car isn't Registered in VA, I'm not licensed from VA, I don't live in VA, don't bug me... :rofl2:

I've got window tint, a radar detector, and headers + CBE, I just drove all the way through VA with a trollface on cause they couldn't touch me. :icon17:

Now I just need to get registered in PA.

PA has some messed up restrictions as well. mostly PA hates tint (especially around Pittsburgh) and some times they give you problems with exhaust or sound system volume. just a heads up lol

Thank goodness I don't live near a City then. I hate overly restrictive laws with no basis of merit whatsoever.

Out here I've been told they only do a safety inspection, no emissions inspection. Just need to call/confirm/setup an inspection appointment so I can get my tags, then the beauty of figuring out what I want my tag to say... :icon08:

The smell never bothered with test pipes or with the TT. I want a way to cut down on the soot all over the bumper. But even that isn't a huge deal. It's fairly easy to clean.

Hey Tony! Got a 3" update for us? :D

That sounds more like a problem dealing with the angles of tips than the smell... Are they angled up, or not sticking far enough out behind the bumper?? :(
