Yeah, but the revenue figures sure look nice... especially since you guys do more than just build exhaust for everyone in this thread.

FWIW, guys, I'm going to test out some sound deadening stuff on the hatch in the coming weeks. I just want enough to take the edge off and make highway driving more comfortable. Will report back with the results. :)

I would've thought just a good layer of Dynamat should make a nice difference for you. It should still keep the "Sound" that we are all after, but then just dampen the effect, just enough in that 2-3k range.

I would hazard a guess at just doing the floor area of the hatch and that's it. Then if that isnt enough add more after that. Just a though, that's all.

On my way now to a Nissan race day, I wont be racing myself but hopefully some other 370's might be out there.

Dynamat alone won't do much for drone. You need MLV or something similar to help with that.

I've got some stuff on order that I'll use to help settle down the hatch area... that should reduce the freeway drone and other annoying road noises while still keeping that sports-car sound. Just a little more refined. :hello:

Hell, if I get it quiet enough I may need to re-order HFCs... :roflpuke2:

No probs mate. I wasnt too sure how much it would affect everything. I suppose i had in my mind, that putting a little now and adding if you need too would be easier than removing stuff.

Hey if it's too quite you might need teh Test Pipes:tup:

Is he going to post a review!

He has almost as many posts in this thread as I do. I would be shocked if there was no review. Any review is greatly appreciated on our end.

Aus370z 10-06-2009 02:52 PM

Does anyone know how far away the F.I. headers are?

Thanks !

G35guy84 10-07-2009 03:41 PM

1. Does anyone know if the F.I. HFCs make that hissing sound that everyone complains about with the Berks? I'm getting my exhaust installed Saturday (and am totally psyched btw!) and I've also got a set of HFCs to go with it, but I don't want to install them just to take them back off if they do, in fact, hiss.

2. Also, do you think it's worth it for me to sell the HFCs anyway and wait for the long tube headers to come out?

according to my research in response to question #2, long tube headers will have more power vs hfc's/test pipes.

"all good things come to those who wait" ;)

dainedazz 10-07-2009 07:45 PM

i gotta question guys..
so i'm gonna have my stuff installed at a shop and i want to keep the oem cbe.
will the oem cbe fit in the Z?
i was lying down in bed and that thought came into my head lol
help me out

abakja1 10-07-2009 08:04 PM

Wish mine were coming in next week,...
I have 1 week vacation from Oct 12-16th to do the install if it did..
Im looking at the 3rd week for mine to be completed not including the days it ships to Hawaii..

Would've been perfect if it did so I could drive around the island enjoying the exhaust sound...

They will fit just, but do be careful as they will turn into Projectiles way too easily. You will need to tie them down as Valentino adv' but not behind teh car LOL.

It fits easily. I brought two blankets and a beach towel when I had to transport mine. I put the muffler in the trunk first (wrapped in blanket) and then the Y-pipe on top of it wrapped in the towel. The Y-pipe rested across the cross-brace in the back nicely. Finally, the paired tubes with resonators fit nicely on the passenger seat and into the footwell, again wrapped in a blanket. Just be careful that the end of the resonator section doesn't make a divot in your seat due to resting pressure on the seatback (you can adjust it so it rests without digging into the seat). Everything was very stable for the drive home and I didn't have to tie anything down.

As long as mine are built first, then start on the headers! :)

Who knows, I might place the first order. I'm curious if I can DIY it...lol.

shumby 10-08-2009 08:19 AM

how about the exhaust for the FX50S you should work on that Tony before the headers.

Even though i will be buyuing both from you.

How you think these headers will work with a supercharger kit, along with your CBE?
