It's real easy. On each side of the car there are small black brackets that are installed under the car near the rear - they have the bars that connect each side of the mufflers to the car, by way of the rubber connectors. All you do is take each of these brackets off (I think each one has 3 bolts), and put washers under the bracket, which essentially lowers the bracket, lowers what the muffler connects to, and end state, lowers the muffler (with tips). Might seem confusing, but when you look under the car, it will be obvious - let me know if you have questions.

Double check on the instructions man. They will be in a bag w/ your receipts, gaskets, and hardware for the install. Also, that will all be bubble wrapped together!
My cat-back went on today. Didn't do the HFCs just yet b/c I am waiting. Just that nice progression feeling I guess. That an next time I do anything, I'm getting help from someone w/ a shop or a garage at least. LOL (in the street install!) Install was quick and easy, took a couple hours and probably would have only been about one if I had a better place to do it but all good. I found that removing the hangers w/ the stock exhaust made things much easier. Also, WAY easier hanging the FI exhaust in place, if that helps anyone doing this at home on the ground. ^_^ Sounds good, real good. A little bit of loudness to it the way I like it. I went no resonators/CF mufflers. Probably the best fit of an exhaust I've had in a long time. My tips had a couple small blemishes but you have to actually get your eyeballs up to it to see em. Mainly was inspecting for UPS shipping damage LOL. All around, great build quality, kept to his word on estimated shipping time, and super easy to install. |

Thanks, Tony |
Tony can you PM me how to lower the muffler tips just alil bit? Which spacers to get & how to align everything. I think the tips need to come out a tiny bit more & be lowered about 1/8 of an inch. Thanks

Does anybody know what size washers I need? I'm going to pick some up at the store & wanna make sure I get the right ones. Oh and how many, Im guessing 6 since there is 3 bolts per pipe. Thanks for any replys
|
You mean on the hangers right? That's where the washers are going to go. Those you can actually reach w/ a ratchet, 3" extension, and a 12mm socket while the car is on the ground. You can take one off and take it into a hardware store and get the exact size that way. The 8 possible points for them are going to all be the same.
Not sure if that helps. |
Not really, Im not really sure where the washers go or what size washers to get, I rather just get the washers, then have my mechanic friend install it. So if there are any pics that would be real helpful.

hey guys,..
need some info as Im not sure if FI is open today due to holiday... I was going to do my HF cat install today, but need a parts list as I had mine in storage a few months since I didnt have a free weekend in a while. I installed my catback months ago and decided to do this today... what parts should come in the box or that I need to install the HF Cats as I definitely dont have new Triangle shaped gaskets like another vendor have in their kits. Seems like you would need them if the HF cats have larger piping (?), b so that the oem gaskets be smaller than the FI HF diameter hole? Also, would you need 3 new nuts and bolts or is there a stud remaining on the header as that is what it looks like in the YouTube vid for Berks,... Lastly, how difficult is it to get the nut and bolt on to tighten that you need to access thru the hood and long extensions, or is this where the stud remains? Sorry for long post, but just being prepared to make install easier for me.. Someone should start a DIY thread for FI and I will try to make a video,...the Berks one is helpful, but doesnt apply to the FI since there are no detailed instructions... |

Thanks for the clarification Tony on the phone..
All straight now and going to install a little later today... |
I need the instructions as well Tony, I need to know what size washers to get, and where on the hangers to put them. My muffler tips are just too close to my bumper, and they need to come out & down just a tiny bit. Thanks, NewYorkJon34@yahoo.com (e-mail)

install update,..
OEM exhaust going back on,...driver side bolt from engine bay stripped its head and I cant get it off either,....This is with a lot of PB blast prior I did yesterday to soak it and again today to soak when I was working on passenger side... I already have the passenger side HF cats installed, but dont know if its safe with HF Cat on one side and oem stock on the driver side to get to the muffler shop...What a nightmare and damn you Nissan Gorilla with the torque gun!! |
Well you could always still use the CBE w/ stock cats on there. That's how mine is right now.

Update:
Got my exhaust today Tony :happydance: It came in great condition and I love how much bubble wrap you used. It will occupy me for hours. Tomorrow it will be installed, and if my tuner pal has time, a baseline + after dyno too. BTW... any updates on the headers?:tiphat: You da man Tony! |
Tony you got PM
