20+ whp, go back a few pages.

I've asked about headers once before in this thread, PM'ed about them too.. still waiting to hear the verdict. :excited:

F.I. Inc. 07-16-2009 01:39 PM

I would only offer them out of Stianless Steel and I need to see how high the demand would be as well as what the current market would allow me to set pricing at.

However, if we decided to make them, they would end in stock location and eliminate any fitment issues.

Togo 07-16-2009 01:41 PM

:D

wstar 07-16-2009 02:20 PM

If you do make headers, what would be really lovely would be to try to pay attention during the design phase to installation ease (without sacrificing performance of course). It's going to be a hell of a job regardless, but a little could be done with the exact routing/placement of the header tubes (we're talking 2-3mm shifts in one direction or the other) to make it significantly easier to reach the header bolts with tools during installation.

You'll see what I mean if/when you try to install a prototype on a 370 with the engine in the car the first time. One bolt in particular on my Stillen headers (the bottom center one on the driver's side) probably took more time, pain, and effort to tighten and torque than the rest combined (not that any of them were easy).

DannyGT 07-16-2009 02:22 PM

I have an idea since you guys seem to be doing great on making different style downpipes. How about making Long-Tube Headers and mate them directly to the catback ? Every car i've heard long tube headers on sound crazy!

Yeah, long tubes would be pretty cool.

B1nks 07-16-2009 03:02 PM

I heard early on that someone was talking about longtube headers being hella hard to squeeze onto the 370..may not be possible.

FuszNissan 07-16-2009 03:21 PM

Long tube would sound nutzzz

damn, missed that!! thanks. that's one serious gain.

Daishi 07-16-2009 08:26 PM

when will this exhaust be available? and how much?

Togo 07-16-2009 08:59 PM

Exhaust is available now, with a bit of a wait due to it being in HIGH demand. They are almost a full month out.

Here is a link to all the info in this 30 page thread summarized.

I would definitely be interested in some headers.

What are you talking about Berks?

You mean F.I. W/ 12" resonators, right?

Racerxj just a quick question- any clearance problems with the stillen intake combined with the oil cooler? Kinda looks like they end up at the same place!

The intakes stay above the bumper bar while the oil cooler sits below it, so there shouldn't be any problem.

F.I. Inc. 07-20-2009 04:11 PM

We are starting on the first few systems today.

If you have sent me a PM and I have not replied, I apologize we are very busy. I will return them all this evening...

Thanks, Tony

Hi,

I don't know if this has been asked already but here it goes anyways...

I noticed that the design on your HFC's and Test Pipes is a bit different from Stillen and Berks as for the O2 sensor location concerns.. People have been getting CEL warnings after installing Stillen HFC's and some percentage of people are also getting CELs with Berks HFC's and test pipes...

Have you guys had the CEL go off with either the F.I. HFC's, F.I. RTP's, or the F.I. Cat-Back itself..??

B1nks 07-21-2009 09:51 PM

good question

kekermahoney 07-21-2009 11:00 PM

thanks for all your answers guys.. FI any chance you make a downpipe for the exhaust system??

shabarivas 07-22-2009 12:35 AM

How do you think cops would react to an exhaust like that - where I live in cali there are billions of cops looking for nice cars lol...

TARDCORE 07-22-2009 12:46 AM

it doesn't sound as loud as the HKS exhaust for the G which i know 2 people who have it and their cars still aren't as loud as my rsx

It would be difficult, if not impossible, for a functioning catback to cause you to throw an O2 CEL. I haven't heard of anyone getting a CEL from the Berk HFCs either, including me, and given that the O2 extension on the FI ones is even more aggressive I wouldn't expect one there either.

With test pipes you have to expect at least a good probability of an O2 CEL, unless you block them off really good.
