Berk v Garageline Test pipes

Does anyone know why there would be about a 100 dollar difference between these two sets of test pipes? Performance gains, longevity of the product, brand name?

Also if anyone has any experience with Garageline, opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I only have hands on experience with Berk but just judging from the pictures it is definitely a difference in manufacturing process that is making their product more expensive. Essentially the material quality and manufacturing quality makes the Berk product more expensive. The Garageline part has the appearance of a part that is mass produced somewhere for very little money (Chinese made knock offs). They are able to offer a completely polished tig welded stainless steel test pipe set for $170 which means very little was invested in the actual design of the product. Structurally the Berk is more robust thanks to the additional bracing welded on the test pipes. I would also be willing to go out on a limb and say that the Berk pipes use thicker walled material.

If it was my Z I would be going Berk Technologies for sure. Again my experience is biased as I have never held a garageline product, but Berk has never disappointed.

^ Thanks for the comment. I think i will rule out Garageline then.
Now i am comparing Berk vs Fast Intentions Test Pipes. I have FI exhaust and stillen gen 3 cai; do you know what the best combination would be in sound and performance gains?

Thanks again

I already have my CEL on from my catback exhaust and CAI. Does a tune remove the CEL?

I have the Gen 3 stillen with Berk test pipes and Stillen cat back. Loud but performance is better than what I could have imagined. Check engine light is on with test pipes. I've heard there is a work around for that. Heres the link to you-tube if you want to see what it sounds like

Invest in a resonated test pipe. I have unresonated pipes and they rasp like hell. A catback may help but I'm not completely sure at the moment.

Ah, the growing pains of a new Brand. :hello: We do not sell knock off products, period! I have been in the industry over 9 years and the it is still one of my biggest concerns. Especially having roots with a company like (TurboXS) now our exhaust components manufacturer.

These particular racepipes were developed on my 07 350Z HR (in 2007). Just so happens to be the same for the 370z. :hello:

As an actual Z owner and lover. I am fan of the VQ's raspy note, some like it some don't. It is part of the VQ character, resonating test pipes don't remove the rasp, it is more like a reduction. It's still raspy and it still has the coast down hiss albeit not as loud. Pick what you like and what is in your budget.

Thanks,

Jermaine

I'm impressed to see a small company chime in to promote and defend their product less than 24 hours of posting. I can't see any pictures here in Camp Leatherneck because some Nazi bastard has interwebs locked hard, but as indicated, test pipes are gonna rasp, regardless of the manufacturer and the best we can do is mitigate that.
