Not sure. You would have to ask Tony @ Fast Intentions. This is what he stated from his own words at MyG37.com:

The Carbon Fiber is not an overlay. It is the actual case to the muffler. It is for aesthetics and weight savings...

He stated around ~25 lbs over stock.

I know. But that wasn't what you were referring to and what I was replying to. 3" is fine for turbo's cars. But not for naturally aspirated vehicles. And 4"? I haven't even heard of forced induction vehicles using that sort of piping for the VQ.

Yep. I have the older version (stainless steel, oval mufflers). I got a hell of a deal for it (almost free ) from a friend.

Also, hopefully I can get a hold of one for testing purposes.

Welds do look good.

Also, where are you getting your information?

I've been around the G boards (G35driver, moderator) and Myg37.com (though im not that active there) for a while. I always do alot of research into a product before I pull the gun. And the Fast Intentions exhaust was just top notch in comparison to other exhausts out there. Ofcourse, the subjective areas of the exhaust will always vary from person to person.

I also have their resonated test pipes, which are also great quality pieces. The resonators are excellent and the welding is just very professional.

You can look into the Fast Intentions exhaust at Fastintentions.com or, for more information at the G37 boards (Fast Intentions cat back Fall/Holiday sale (All Cat backs, prices slashed)!!! - MyG37)

it's around 1400.00 USD for a cat-back CF exhaust system

many ppl decided to buy a cat-back system from Magnaflow b/c ppl were getting them at less then 500 shipped.....which seems like a good deal !

For a simple catback? I mean I know its dual and all, but 1400 is a little steep for something of that quality. I'd pay $1400 for an ericsson or an amuse titanium catback.

$500 sounds a tad low for a dual catback. I think the sweetspot should be around 6-800 for a really nice catback.

nogoodname 12-10-2008 02:31 PM

some ppl got 500 for a catback b/c we found a loop hole on the site....lol

reg price was a bit more...lol...then they found out and raised the price...hahaha

1400 is a bit much for an exhaust...i agree

Nice, but with the stock rear bumper, you can't even see the CF. If I was more interested in look, I'd rather have titanium, not to mention for weight savings and sound.

I have this exhaust for my G37S and it is kick a$$. The CF is not a sleave. Tony at fastintentions is a great guy call him up he will answer all your questions. Having a slight ses light issue with the HFC some get it some don't and then the non-foulers work on some and some don't but I know he is working on a fix 100% and I know it is going to work but I cannot tell anymore as he asked me not to. He will be making this for the Z soon.

nogoodname 12-12-2008 12:17 PM
