+1 with that. best thing to do with exhaust systems is to show the best representation of the exhaust before the big purchase

I will be at autoclub tomorrow if I remember I'll have interior sound from the race track

TGreen 10-06-2012 09:38 PM

Thanks for making those interior videos, Martin. I can tell that there's no drone at any rpm, real nice. Thanks for rowing through the gears at different speeds.

I'm assuming that (as usual) the phone mic just couldn't pick up the full breadth of the exhaust note because it didn't sound too deep, but it still sounded good. You agree?

Thanks again. I know it can be kind of a pain.

martin82 10-07-2012 12:41 AM

yes, the mic picks up a "higher sound" that it really is.... its a nice deep drone... I will be getting test pipes installed too one of these days....

bacardisk3 10-08-2012 01:40 AM

I found this for 1,150.00 but says for 2009..would it fit on my 2011..the guy running the site said it should but I wanna know for sure before buying

bacardisk3 10-08-2012 01:41 AM

If you're asking whether this system will fit a 2009 370z, then yes, it will.

Nothing involving this car's exhaust system (at least from the cats back) changed between 2009 and 2011.

You're all good. Good price, too. Where'd you find that at? A vendor here on the forums?

TeamARK 10-08-2012 12:01 PM

^^ Right on...

bacardisk3 10-08-2012 07:52 PM

no other way around..the exhaust on the site is for a 2009..i have a 2011..no just found it through a bunch of google links

martin82 10-08-2012 08:06 PM

I'm getting custom test pipes....

Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. Regardless, nothing with the Z's exhaust system changed from 2009 to 2011, they're totally the same.

The "2009" exhaust will work on your 2011 Z. I'm guessing the 2009 is only specified on the website because it was the first model year for the 370z. Most places will put 2009+, but no matter. You're still good.

martin82 10-09-2012 02:03 PM

I have a 2012... they install fine to all years 370z...

bacardisk3 10-09-2012 11:57 PM

ok good thanks for the info..im skeptical about the test pipes or hfc..i dont want a hissing noise at all..and ive read no matter what test pipes you get you'll a hiss..but with the ark hfc ive read there isnt one..so maybe ill go with them..are test pipe gains much better than hfc's?

TeamARK 10-10-2012 11:01 AM

The gains for a test pipe will be a little better than hfc since there is less restrictions on the entire system

TGreen 10-10-2012 05:53 PM

Here's Martin82's car. Good video of the exhaust that somehow isn't in this thread.

When did SS tips start to become available? I had been watching the website but never saw them.

Is this something that, if I have the burnt-tip exhaust, I could later buy just some SS tips and swap them?

When do you think you'll have more SS-tip in stock?

Thanks

martin82 10-11-2012 08:54 PM

yes u can swap the tips... they have 2 screws with allen head...

Yeah, I can see that they're removable, but what I was more interested in was (a) whether stainless steel tips were now being sold (b/c I was still under the impression that SS tips weren't an option), and (b) whether I could just by the tips, alone. I don't see the option to just by tips at Ark's website, let alone SS tips for the 370z.

Also, how much would a pair of tips cost?

GTLAW 10-17-2012 04:00 PM

This is coming out for the G37? also I see it seems to tuck up better then the GRIP. From the Photos! If you make one for the G37 Coupe! I buy it.

To answer my own question (I called Ark):

SS tips are now available. To order a pair, one simply needs to contact (call) Ark directly and place an order for them.

So if you're not a fan of burnt tip or the techno tip, there's your solution.
