Hydro lock help!

Im using CAI

and It rained hard today and after I hit 4,000 rpm, engine turned off

and started again it worked. came home and started the engine it started

very hardly and shaking right now.

what should I do ??

tjlazer 07-25-2012 11:16 PM

I would inspect the intakes and make sure they are dry. Dont start the engine again. Let it dry before trying to start the engine. You should be fine.

If it actually Hydro locked at 4000 rpm it wouldn't restart, there would be all kinds of bent pistons.

Let it dry over night. take the filters off and make sure the maf is dry. you should be alright

What intake?

Staples 07-26-2012 11:03 PM

Car went into limp mode. The MAF sensors probably ended up getting wet.

Glad to hear it worked out.

Any of the cai's that place the filter in the same area as the Gen 3's should have almost no chance of hydro locking, such as the akuma and takeda.

edub370 07-27-2012 08:01 AM

the next logical step is to have something in between the intake and motor that can get rid of all that pesky water.

turbos do wonders
