370Z With RC exhaust
So, i've had a few members ask me to post up information regarding my RC exhaust... and its about time that I answered the call. The exhaust is made from titanium and came heat wrapped from the original owner. I would say that at most, the full RC exhaust system ways 10 pounds. After the installation the scientific butt dyno concluded that it provided 100 brake horsepower ( it matched a dyno verified supercharged M3 308hp to the wheel friends car on a closed track)
Here are a few photos post installation that show the underside of the full Header back exhaust install. Here are the post installation photos. Here is the header back CAT delete pipes. http://i.imgur.com/nKkiF.jpg The header dual pipe into the single Y pipe connection. http://i.imgur.com/MqURX.jpg The muffler. http://i.imgur.com/ZqL4C.jpg Here is a photo of the muffler from the back, the mesh is a muffler based cat for weight savings. http://i.imgur.com/4SOBL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CRG6Q.jpg Here is a video of the exhaust at startup and idle. I'm bad at life and cannot figure out the Youtube imbed feature, so here are the links. And a few flyby videos.... (on closed roads of course). If anyone has questions regarding the exhaust or the installation process please let me know. I've been to a few Z shows and haven't seen this out there, so to avoid heartburn during installation I will gladly provide my assistance/advice. Also... for what its worth, I believe my car is the only 370z civilian model with this exhaust installation. :happydance: |
As a side note, I haven't done a cabin based recording due to me not having a GoPro. I will do a session if there is a decent demand.

Oh man videos aren't loading for me, but this is wild! Muffler based cat? 10 lbs? Gotta wonder how much power it made. Also, you meant to type a 408 whp M3 right?

Oh man, this is awesome. I need this on my car! Is there any word whether or not Nissan will sell this to the public!?
|
I'm not sure if they will sell individual parts from the RC, I don't see why they wouldn't though.

Thanks for the compliments. Next step is CAI and ECU... then lord knows whats next.

Can you explain how you got your hands on this exhaust? Since you are in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, I assume you have friends in high places? LOL.

Wow! So jealous. That sounds amazing.

Unfortunately sourcing the NISMO RC parts is next to impossible without first owning a NISMO RC. Just like the brake ducts and other NISMO RC specific components, Nissan Japan will not willingly sell them to just anyone. This is not uncommon. NISMO Japan and Autech are very particular about their race car components.
I realize now that Nissan Motorsports is selling the CF NISMO RC Ducts (formerly thought to not be obtainable from the NISMO RC). But these themselves are reporductions and are not the true NISMO RC duct from Japan. They are identical in everyway, do not let me mislead you. |

This may be slightly off topic, but wouldn't a muffler cat not work particularly well?? I mean with it being so far away from the engine i can't imagine it getting hot enough to burn any extra fuel.
But... If it does function like a normal cat, then it would look badass at night! |
