I received my CBE on the 27th. I just finished installing her this morning. Easy and strait forward install after removing the old exhaust. It took me a good 5 hrs to remove my nismo one. Had a super seized nut that would not come out. I sprayed a gallon of pb on her, use a 1/2 socket on a breaker with my jack' s 2' bar on them end and still no2 give. I guess 34 k miles with of corrosion got the best of her ads me. Ended up taking the cross member off and removing the thing in one piece minus the muffler. PITA !! Out then only took me 40 minuts to install the F I and get my car back on the ground. Only help I needed was hanging the two mufflers.

Got my shipping confirmation today (to be delivered 9/5). I'm order #1002.

For those who have had their FI exhaust professionally installed, how did you get the exhaust to the shop? Does it fit in the Z, or is it best to get it there via another vehicle?

I just got my FI race pipes and cbe delivered directly to my shop last week and they installed it last Thursday. Guess I'd be close to #1000. I can tell you when I picked it up I brought 3 large blankets and 4 large bath towels and I was able to bring my stock cats and the nismo cbe home with me. It all fit in the back with no problems with just a little overhang between the seats.

I had FI ship it to my shop.

After a few days the non-res quiets down just a shade in the cabin and loses that bass and boominess that was slightly making me wish I had gone 12"

Had my wife drive it in a separate vehicle (RAV-4). The stock came back in the RAV as well.

On another note. Is it just me, or does everyone's tips have a bit of a yellow/gold tint to them?

I haven't had mine installed yet, but I set it up to be shipped to the shop doing the install. I'm not sure if the exhaust system will fit in the Z. I'm probably going to have to bring a truck with me when it's installed to take home the stock exhaust..

Still figuring out where I'm going to store the stock system! Probably going to look to sell the catback and keep the stock cats for smog purposes.

Unless you polish them religiously they will have that goldish tint. I would Nevr-Dull them and get it nice and shiny like new, but then I realized I kind of like the gold tint. :D

They came out of the box yellowish. Either that or it yellowed in a day or so.

So you saying that is not how they are supposed to look? I can make them look more silver?

You like the gold because you are a Lakers fan.

It is possible that they yellowed after a couple of days, non expert opinion is it could be the heat. Attachment 93727

The first pic is from the day I got it installed, second is right now. Attachment 93728

Although I don't think I like it because I'm a Lakers fan. LOL!!! Not quite the same gold.

I would probably Nevr Dull it and see how long it takes or maybe someone else can chime in with how often they have to polish it to stay silver.

Since I have had the exhaust or since I last polished?

If since I had the exhaust, about 4300 miles, if since I polished it, about 4100.

For the record the car is washed at least twice a month; which includes wiping down the tips. (Not polishing)

Pic from today, the car was washed 9 days ago.
