Is there any kind of recommended break-in period for this exhaust? Or is it ready to bring the noise from mile 1?

synolimit 05-31-2013 12:55 AM

Any reason the CBE doesn't have flex pipes? Just curious about longevity and cracking.

Because the kit is built to fit perfectly from the start. Flex pipes account for inadequacies of designs.

We recommend 3 heat cycles as a break-in period before really getting on the car hard. This can be found in the installation instructions..

Thank you, Blake

Tony recommends to do 3 cycles of start car, let warm up to operating temperature, turn off and let cool down. All this before driving the car with the new exhaust.

Edit-Blake beat me to it

And in aftermarket exhaust systems it's usually the first part that starts to deteriorate.

:iagree: Sometimes based on their positioning between the axels and excessive diameter compared to the actual piping, these will actually scrape on speed bumps before any other part will. :ugh2:

The flex pipes give more room to adjust for the fitment, but when the car moves all the moving force is applied to the flex pipes thus it's easy to sag and broken after the time. I think Tony explained this somewhere. Just can't find it now.

I'm halfway through my waiting period! It's just like quitting cigarettes, the first couple weeks are the hardest but you KNOW it will be worth it.

Oh Woops I saw "waiting period" but was thinking shipping window. I'm 747, I think my shipping window is around end of June into first week of July. Hopefully I can get it on for 4th of July:tup:
