just my opinion, but single exit throws the whole look of the car off...not very aesthetically pleasing unless you have the bumper thats meant for it

:iagree:, but if you like that all that matters

The standard, non-Nismo, Y pipe is kind of small. When I swapped in my second-hand Nismo exhaust I was impressed by how much larger (particularly the H pipe) and less constricted it was and how its pipe diameter (larger) was a better match for the stock cats. You can often find take-off Nismo exhausts for about $400, just make sure it isn't dinged up. Since the Nismo exhaust is stainless steel it lasts practically forever too. It has nice large "Nismo" logo tips and if you take care of it you can sell it for what you paid if you ever go F.I. If you're into that sort of thing, it makes your Z "Nismo Equipped" too.

Spoiler alert: It's not very loud but you can always do the 'washer mod" for a bigger sound.

I love my single... It does feel like it has a little less torque down low, but honestly it blows the tires off so easily it doesn't even matter.

With the weight savings and the sound it makes, I'm super happy. Only down side is that it brings the noise into the cabin more than it did with the Stillen.

Since I'm getting all kinds of crap from all my friends for wanting a single exit I'm thinking about doing a full 3" catback dual with Vibrant resonators to quite it down a bit with the HKS mufflers. What do you guys think of that combo? Or should I just buy the Agency power catback and be done with it?

I can tell you one thing, it will be defeaning loud.

Just get a proper 2.5" catback with the new x-pipe from FI and you'll be more than pleased

I'm running a Vibrant resonator and buddy club pro 3inch muffler. I have 2.5" from the HFCs into a Y with a 3 inch flange all the way to the bumper.

I would be willing to be my setup makes more power than a Stillen CBE or Invidia...ect.

I'm surprised that one of the off the shelf cat backs won't do the job for you. If you guess wrong on the design you'll get some major league drone and rasp, as many one this forum have already seen.

Well I really wanted a single exit in the beginning but since my friends are all giving me crap about the car lookig rice... I decided to go with something I like which is the Hks mufflers and I really want to run 3" piping or at least 2.75 most of the aftermarkets are 2.5"s my other choice is the Greddy TI-C but that thing is so expensive I would love to get that but the price is a bit much. My last choice is the AAM 3" which the cheapest I found was around 1200 shipped which I still think is too much. But idk I'm still decided my last choice is the Agency Power which again is 2.5" and comparted to my other choice is the cheapest under $800 bucks shipped. B

Yea, this stuff can get expensive. If you are after power I think you'll be better off with a Stillen or other major brand with a history of success on the dyno. If you are after a unique look and sound then you could change out the factory muffler and install new mufflers and tips reusing the factory resonators and mid pipe. As far as I know 3" pipes are generally considered too large for most non boosted applications.

As to price, Stillen and others, periodically have sales and package pricing that can save you significant dollars.

cnt or topspeed are the best bang for the buck exhausts for this car. PLUS topspeed just came out with a new system

Nissan 370Z Z34 09-11 Top Speed Pro-1 Catback Exhaust System Systems Resonators | eBay

or

CNT Racing Catback Exhaust - CB-370Z - Nissan - 370Z - From: 2009 - To: 2011 | NextGenTuning.com

both IMHO sound 10x better than Agency powers system on these cars

Ended up deciding on going with the single exit 3" with the HKS Carbon Hi-power muffler and Motordyne 3" resonated Y-pipe. Will be adding HFC soon only reason I can't go with TPs is because the race track I go to they wont let me run my class if I don't have cats. I will post of the whole build guys as many pics as possible. And BTW spoke to a couple of shops about losing power with a single 3" they all assured me that with that setup the only loss will be weight :)

Thank you for the help.

Bump for any advice before I start the build?
