So I went over to James' house for a second opinion on the clearance issue with the R2C intake and confirmed that this intake will NOT properly fit my 2012 nismo. The passenger side intake tube does provide enough angle to allow for enough clearance to shut the hood. Thanks James for providing your garage and a second opinion. I am not happy but feel better knowing its not just me.
I will be contacting tunerZ for refund.

Be very very careful when purchasing any aftermarket parts for the NISMO models. I attempted to have my ark exhaust installed today at a very reputable shop and not only did the outlets not match up, but the resonators are touching the underbody brace. I called ark and was told I need to add washers in between the brace, about a half inch, to provide clearance. Not happy about this type of resolution, don't feel disturbing the structural integrity of the car is a safe or smart option.

Ryan,

I stand behind the products I sell and if there are issues they will be taken care of. I have already spoken to R2C and they have already processed a return shipping label, which you have in your mail box.

The ARK exhaust is another issue I'm sure that will get resolved.

As I have said before and will say again, any issues contact me directly anytime.

Just FYI for others that have NISMO cars, apparently there is a possibility there will be some that have issues, although this isn't the first r2c intake that I have sold to someone with a NISMO 370z and they had no issues. ARK has test fitted their exhaust on a NISMO 370z and assure me it fits.

That "issue" is on every Z... Its not even a problem with the product if you got the grip 2. You really just need a better installer. I went to a shop who never even had a Z in and they knew exactly what to do. If you do not bolt it up in the correct order then you will have that issue dont be so quick to blame products. Do a little research and you find that there are how-to's for that exhaust.

Michael - Thanks for promptly responding and addressing the issue. I honestly thought it was just me overlooking something on the intake that is why I got a second opinion. I don't mean to come across as a bother, just having some bad luck i suppose.

Thanks again Michael for standing behind your products - I would recommend others to purchase thru you.

Disappointing for sure, man. There was definitely an issue with the passenger side intake fitting the throttle body flush. Also, for whatever reason, a hose connected to the wiper fluid reservoir seemed to interfere much more so on Ryan's Nismo than mine. This prevented even a less than flush fit at the throttle body from angling low enough for proper hood latching.

I'm sure Michael will get you sorted, whatever route you need to go. Glad you finally got the exhaust situated. Can't wait to hear it.

Michael,

Thank you for shipping out my intake so quickly (Northbrook IL).

Was this pretty simple to set up for a noobie like me to do tonight?

Can I just follow the Stillen DIY?

Tunerz_Store 07-10-2012 02:13 PM

No problem...

there are instructions in the box. 1hr install for noobs...
