hey chrischhorn, I got the same issue with the mid-pipe. It's easy to make the assumption ERZ is knowingly shipping "bolt-on" exhausts that require modification to fit; and that they can't be bothered to replace the missing bits and pieces.

It ISN'T an issue with stock cats. It only became an issue to me when we installed HFC's. If i were you, i would go ahead and cut the bracket off just so it isn't an issue in the future for whatever reason. Either way as stated, you get what you pay for so im not mad by any means. Just letting others know my experience and what i did to fix them.

By the way, i hope you bought it off ebay cause they have it posted on ebay for $50 less then forum price.........:ughdance:

I don't plan on changing my cats.... should have left it on.

Doesn't make a difference. Just an unnecessary hassle for you lol. Doesn't effect the durability of it. Wont cause vibrations or anything. It was just a random extra bracket to start.

edub370 & scionide, the two of you are pretty effen lucky then. Not sure if everyone else had some drugged out, or hung over SOB put their pieces together.

harman.khinda 05-05-2012 05:05 PM

^ haha. yeah I had trouble getting everything to line up too; muffler's hitting my swaybar. I live in a small town; no exhaust shop is open till Monday.

stells370 05-07-2012 12:24 PM

mine went on great no problems at all... but i did have that little cross pipe welded instead of using a clamp

I didn't have any problems either.

I got done installing my exhaust on Friday and really had to muscle the flanges to get them lined up. There's not enough clearance between the mufflers and rear sway bar, the rattle was horrible. It was so bad that the screws holding the exhaust tips in place fell out....

The exhaust note isn't bad, the price point is good, and I really like how quite it is. The fact that they knowingly ship out exhausts that are missing accessories and you have to cut a brace to make sure it deosn't f'up your driveshaft is a major issue with me.

I pm ERZ and got a prompt response they will ship the screw tips at no extra charge. +1 for customer service.

Must be nice.....i already posted the response from them when i didn't receive the bolts at all. I guess they like to pick and choose who they help. Good for you though.

^ i was suprised. must have been a different person. try pming them.

harman.khinda 05-10-2012 02:49 PM

^ I was suprised and happy.

ERZ response to the brace question and muffler hitting the rear sway bar-

"What you need to do is put a radiator hose and cable tie it on the part of the exhaust that hits the sway bar this will eliminate and rattling noise you might have. What is your shipping address I can reship you 4 of those screws that is not a problem. There was three brackets weld on to the mid pipe one on top and two on the bottom the two on the bottom won't hit anything since it's facing the ground so you saw off the one on top?"
