Lol @ selling an intake and exhaust together and calling it a "stage 1 performance package"

With this package it is for the new car owner who just purchased there stock Z and is looking to upgrade the basics and save a buck. We are simply trying to help the Z community by providing top notch parts and saving you the consumer some money.

Using Stage I, II, or III etc will always be a subjective measure. It will always be based on the company putting together the list of parts, packaging, and advertising them as such. Considering these are very basic and what someone might do as their first power adder, I think calling it "Stage I" apt to it's target audience. For us on this forum that prefer to do all the up front research on their own and would rather customize what our "stage I" or "stage II" would be, have at it. :tiphat: I for one thank AAM for putting together easy to understand packages, even if I don't need it. The more that buy stuff for our Z's, the lower the price we have to pay in the future.

^^ +1. intake and exhaust are Stage 1 mods on any platform. nothing wrong w/ calling this package Stage 1.

lemon-fresh 04-17-2012 02:55 PM

Cool, wish more companies had stillen g3 + exhaust combo packs.

Adam@AAMComp 04-17-2012 03:01 PM

We know it works well and proven on the dyno. So we want to offer the best bang for your buck deals. I figure if one of the members just picked up a new Z car this is a great chance for them to add a little more Oomph to the car for a decent deal.

lemon-fresh 04-17-2012 03:29 PM

Agreed, the only problem is that most Z owners who want to mod will probably go for a full cbe meaning they may be hesitant to invest in this package knowing they will likely have to replace it in the future. I think HFC+CAI would be a more flexible package.

Adam@AAMComp 04-17-2012 03:32 PM

Can always add the HFC or Test Pipes if need be. But this is a whole Cat Back also ;). The "H" pipe is just not in the picture.

ZCarMan 04-17-2012 04:00 PM

Go AAM!

No problem. We are working hard here to also design new products for the 370z and GT-R. Our engineer has our CNC running all day trying out new things. Also will be doing some suspension packages and Drivetrain. Keep an eye out!

I think this is a nice starter package for those seeking to start modding their Z's. Adam, can you tell us if the dyno numbers were performed on a completely stock 370Z? Does the addition of these parts require a new tune to compenstate for the increased air flow?
Thanks

Adam@AAMComp 04-18-2012 10:04 AM

I will be glad to answer these. The test was performed on a 100% stock Z. We then added a catback and Stillen G3 intake and gained 20 wheel. A tune is not needed for simple bolt on but I am sure it will unlock a little bit more power. If you were to add test pipes I would recommend the tune.

In the picture where that cross bar is actually hides the "H" Section. I am getting another picture right now for future reference.

Say whatever you want about whatever they choose to call this, this is a bargain. A few hundred bucks cheaper than the same when I ordered this very same set-up from Z1 a few months back. Z1 didn't even let me know what was going on and got the time-framed screwed up; I had to call AAM direct to find out that they didn't have any made and were building mine on order, and when they learned how long I'd been waiting and the hassle I'd already been through, it got finished about 2 days earlier than expected and arrived at my doorstep days before the final ETA quote.

Someone at AAM must have gotten in touch with someone at Z1 and they made miracles happen. I would and will order from them again.

Adam@AAMComp 04-23-2012 08:08 AM

Thank you for the kind words. We try and do the best we can. We will be releasing more packages shortly. A lot of things going on here. R&D department is working very hard some some new items and the production department is cranking out parts as fast as possible!
