Okay, so I just ordered this intake @ $378.68 which I think is a great deal. Time to start praying to the fast shipping gods... I'm thinking about getting the shield as well, but I'm not sold on it being a necessity.

Game over... WIN!

Great pic!

I've always wondered, why does the intake tube narrow down for a small section right before the engine?

:icon18: I read this & went back to the pic & you can see the rain water everywhere.

Yeah, I was on a mission... It started raining about 30 minutes in but I stuck with it. No big deal, just doing what we do...

How long did it take for you to uninstall the factory AI & install the CAI?

Took me about 3 hours because I foolishly thought that the instructions were all inclusive (or correct!) and I got hung up on the routing of the silicone couplers through the radiator support. If I had to do it again, easily less than 90 min. FWIW, there is a DIY here on taking off the bumper and it was priceless. It is actually pretty easy.

:roflpuke2: I had some shops say to me that the Stillen G3 would take 2.5hrs (take old AI off & put new CAI) & labor would be $250 since they would have to cut as well. I was like uhhhh....pricey. The Takeda looks like it would be a lot easier & cheaper to install. At the end of the day as long as you are happy, then that is all that EFFEN MATTERS. :tiphat:

I highly recommend the Takeda. The fact that it uses the same aFe filter material (Pro Dry S) as I have in my truck is a bonus. Every part is of nice quality, installation is easy (I'm a slow modder! I blame the rain...), and it looks Big Baller when its done.
Performance wise, it took a few miles to settle in, but the butt dyno is happy too.

 Nice...... Sounds like a good win/win for you big guy. For me the LT CAI would be the Takeda. I would have to figure out how in the F to take off front bumper to install or clean filter. The hassel free idea would be the K&N Replacement Filters & the Post-MAF Intake Hose. Now is there a huge night & day difference b/w the two not to sure.

Once you've removed the bumper an realize how easy it is, it won't be a problem again.
