Horsepower after Full Bolt-Ons and a Tune?

I had a friend ask me this question, and I couldn't really give him a good answer.

On average, how much horsepower and torque do our cars make on full bolt ons (Intake, Exhaust, HFC/TP/LT Headers) and a tune (probably Uprev)? Obviously, we can't just add the individual horsepower gains of each mod, it's gonna have diminishing returns.

These are the gains I made:

Gains
29.6 ft.lb.
44.2 HP

Did that make your final whp around 325~ or so? i'm going off of what my baseline dyno number was.

My opinion, you're looking at +40 to 50hp gain after full bolt ons and tune.

It depends on the dyno. I was on a Mustang dyno and WHP is 274.2, but my calculation would have been 325 on a dynojet, yes.

Those were the numbers that I was thinking. Which isn't bad for a N/A V6, in my opinion.

Ah, I'm dumb. Your numbers were in your sig, haha. My personal dyno run was on a Dynojet. I got 286 hp and 243 tq. EDIT: Bone stock, that is.

I would say 50-60whp I'm at 316 whp untuned. My baseline was 270

Interesting question. So those of you that installed the bolt-ons, do you feel the Hp gain out-weighed the cost? What would you all say the cost was per Hp/Tq gain?

amrbasha 04-08-2012 10:21 AM

I noticed people on here saying whp what is whp? and why do you guys say its so low on your cars i thought the 370 does 332 horsepower? can anyone explain please

SS_Firehawk 04-08-2012 10:49 AM

It's the hp measured at the wheels by a dynometer. Advertised power is from the crank. When adding power, the best way to measure gains is to the wheels as this is much more feasable to do, and the most accurate. Boltons aren't the only way to improve whp; Wheel sizes, wheel weight, drivetrain changes such as flywheels, clutches, and rotor weight will change the reading to the wheels.

The average seems to be roughly 40-50rwhp depending on the parts installed. That is very respectable for an NA V6 in my opinion.

Alstann 04-08-2012 10:14 PM

Thanks for the input guys. You're right, 40-50 whp gain on a N/A V6 are not too shabby.

With just stillen g3 intakes and F.I. 18" resonators exhaust and an uprev tune im making 313.8rwhp on a dynojet

How much of a difference would LTH's add on top of all the other boltons? It seems like the most complicated upgrade, as well as one of the more expensive.
