Just installed Akrapovic exhaust system
I purchased the full Akrapovic Evolution exhaust cat-back system from Scott at Vivid Racing. Awesome customer service and really worked with me; had some issues because of the size of the packages and shipping to a military APO address, but everything arrived quickly and in one piece.
The whole installation was easy and Akrapovic included things like multiple tubes of copper lead-free anti-seize paste, detailed instructions, excellent packaging, and great quality pipes. Everything was definitely lighter than the OEM exhaust, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to weigh it and compare. As for the sound, it is one of the quieter systems. I'll try to get a vid up of just the cat-back and then with high flow cats, which I will get in about a week. The pics below were taken before I straightened everything and tightened all the bolts. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-V...s800/Akro1.JPG https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-0...s800/Akro2.JPG |
Thanks for the shout out and the support. Glad you got everything installed smoothly!!
The Akrapovic system is incredible, and not that common on these cars. |
oh man. this exhaust always had me so intrigued. from the few and rare vids i have seen,it sounded diffrent from most, deff looking foward to vid clips and such!

Looks very nice!!! This is one of my future exhausts, just not right now.
|
def need a video, can't really tell much from pictures.
PS: dyno or HP claims would be nice too. |
Can't wait for the Dyno/Vids. I had my dyno's done at Vivid, their Dyno is good. Just make sure no one is welding! :bowrofl:
Those CF Tips are sick. The main reason I want that exhaust. :yum: |

The funny part is he ordered an exhaust made in Europe, to have it shipped from the states back to Europe. :icon17:

Or if he had HFC's or TP's. |
Yeah, it is kind of funny that I had to order an exhaust made in Europe from America then have it shipped back to Europe LoL.
As for dyno-runs....unfortunately that isn't so easy OR CHEAP here in Belgium. I don't have a baseline run and will only probably go on the dyno to tune once other bolt on parts are on. As for the videos, I'll take some good HD quality stuff w/ my Nikon DSLR w/ just the cat back and then with the Berk HFCs once I get them. I'll try to get outside the car and in the cabin while the car is in motion. |
If you cannot get the exhaust just yet, Akra has some nice gear to keep you stoked !

very sexy
there are a couple of guys in Sydney who run this exhaust it is one of the quietest exhaust out there but at WOT it sounds sweet.. havent heard it with HFC installed so that could change the tone also not to mention it looks like p0rn with the CF tips.. |
I didn't get a vid with just the Akrapovic exhaust. I just installed the Berk High Flow Cats today and it totally changed the sound....its a little raspy....I took a quick two vids today after the install, I would've took more time but the weather here has been crap.

Oh yeah, installing the high flow cats was a pain in the @$$!!! Got to the point where I finally had to do a search to find out how to best do this. Turns out, easiest way was to take out/move some of the air intake piping, use a lot of extensions and an impact gun.
Once I moved the air intake piping out of the way, I had a clear shot to the exhaust bolts that were giving me a hard time. I didn't think I'd have to go through the engine bay to get to those parts :P https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-4...U/s640/HFC.JPG |
